Lyft driver was backing out of my across the street neighbor's driveway yesterday and backed into my daughter's car (denting a door). Neighbor got the driver's name and phone number but not insurance information which doesn't do me a ton of good if the driver doesn't answer her phone.

Went for my yearly physical on Thursday and the doctor’s only concern was my weight. Returned to the doctor yesterday with the flu, but at least I had lost 8 pounds!

It's 58 degrees in my house. The power was out for 3 hours. I have gas heat but my thermostat is electric. I'm freezing my balls off. On top of this, my linux server appears to be fried. I want to cry.

Your pump(s) and/or fans are electric too, so even if you could power the thermostat you still wouldn't have heat. Sorry about your server

Got a phone call yesterday around 6:30 from my sons school it was a recorded message from the principal that said:

I wanted to take a moment to respond to recent inquiries made regarding an incident at the middle school. Please know that the matter has been addressed and that Dr. Magee and I have responded according to school board policy. In an abundance of caution, the PA State Police were notified and responded. There is no threat to student and staff safety. School will operate under normal conditions tomorrow, Thursday, December 19, 2019.

Was kind of freaked out so I asked my son what happened, he had no idea. My wife is friends with a teacher at the middle school so she asked her friend and the friend had no idea. Wtf.

Two things that happened at my local school district: one student made a target list. Not serious i don't think, but he was still expelled for a year. Second, students air dropped nudes of themselves in close proximity to the principal. All studentsost phone privileges for a month.

It's booting into BusyBox. Looks like its a bad superblock so it "should" be repairable. I really don't feel like rebuilding a server this weekend.

I am. The explosion shook my house. Dog ran cowering to the basement and the cat darted upstairs. I went outside to check it out and there was a guy frantically trying to douse the flames with a fire extinguisher. I ran back to my house to get mine but by the time I was halfway back down the block the house was completely engulfed and then it collapsed a minute or two later. Wild stuff. Lots of people were just standing around crying. Inquirer is using one of my pics.
