Was driving to work this morning and was on a two lane one way street into Lancaster. A road construction truck was setup in my lane up ahead with a flashing arrow telling my lane to merge with the other lane. Once I got close enough to see it, I turned my blinker on and and inched forward as the cars infront of me merged, then when I was the front car and about two car lengths from the front of the cone, I was looking to merge. There was a woman in a minivan that was inches from the car in front of her, I saw her window was down so I rolled mine down and asked "would you please let me in, this lane is closed" she snapped back "that's not how this works! you need to drive to the cones and then merge" so I drove the now 1.5 car lengths up and then she let me merge in front of her. Weird hill to die on lady.

i was stuck in a standstill on the highway yesterday, normal traffic. off to the side was a very minor accident where i think one woman merged into another and a back door got dented. while i'm literally sitting on the freeway, they are chatting it up like they are best friends, apparently waiting for maybe the police to come? could've sworn i heard them talking about some restaurant. it was actually kinda cool.

why did you get out of the car and sit on the freeway?

meditation, not as fun as playing football on the 5 when they closed the highway for close to three hours because there was an inch or two of snow.

She's an advid NPR listener and heard that the emerge is performed most efficiently at the end. She was just showing off how smart she was. She hopes you have learned something new as well.

This lady rules. That's exactly what you're supposed to do. 1.5 cars is excessive but there's as much of a chance for a car to be right behind you and then merge at the cones in front of that lady. So she let two cars in instead of 1.

It was not a high speed merge, if she had let me in when I asked her to, no one else was getting in there. It was at a light and only handful of vehicles were getting through each turn and the open lane was not letting people in which is why I asked her in the first place.
