Fitzpatrick voted to condemn Trump and for the minimum wage hike. I wonder if this is enough to attract a crazy primary challenge.

Domenico Montanaro

@DomenicoNPR
@realDonaldTrump now says he disavows the "send her back" chant from his rally.

Per pool, he was asked why he didn't stop it: : “I think I did - I started speaking very quickly.”

He added: “I was not happy with it - I disagree with it.”

We'll see if anyone is dumb enough to believe that. He could have easily said "stop, we can't deport a US citizen because we don't like them", but he paused and let them continue (in addition to telling them to go back where they came from a few days ago).

Also, I saw on twitter that some republicans were voicing their displeasure to Pence this morning.

We'll see what happens when the chant pops up again at his next rally and he has a chance to actually lead (and he'll naturally be given full credit for putting out the fire he started).

For the record, the crowd chanted for nearly 13 seconds before Trump "quickly" spoke and by then the chant had died out.

Dean Malik apparently has money or access to it and no common sense. Don't see why he won't try again.

Also it wouldn't surprise me if some of that money is from Fitzpatrick's own people, to help "center" him.

two Republicans running to be the Governor of Mississippi have a rule that they will never be alone with a woman who is not their wife.

Half the population of Mississippi is female, the last I checked. This does not seem tenable unless you simply do not ask women questions or converse with them throughout your life.

I wasn't familiar with the term "body man" until an article in the New Yorker on Kamala Harris described her "body woman" bringing her a cookie. Now I see it's a personal assistant (not sure why that's not good enough) not a body guard. Can't comment on the article yet, got stuck on the nomenclature in the first paragraph.

A lot of them are probably ok with that though.

Surprising that Mississippi has not one, but two Muslim Republican candidates for governor. Or I guess they might be Orthodox Jews. Still surprising.

Seen a couple of polls this week in vital swing states and while not great for Trump (losing to Biden), better than I'd have thought given the current zeitgeist. Tied/ahead of non-Biden Dems.

Didn't test every potential head to head or anything so I don't have great takeaways beyond 'if the election was held today' Biden would do better than Sanders/Harris/Warren, but kind of a jarring reminder that Trump can win re-election. Also I'm not saying that Biden will necessarily be a better candidate over the campaign, especially if he's lost his fastball, but he sure as shit is rn.

Anything you buy from a campaign store is going to be heavily marked up. Designed to raise money for the campaign.

Missed opportunity from them to have a line about librul tears, though.

Less than 24 hours after attempting to disavow supporters who chanted "send her back" at his North Carolina rally this week, President Trump reversed course and took their side. "As you know, those are incredible people...those are incredible patriots," the president said Friday.
