No matter, most of the time I'm moving along fine. Well I start to hit traffic and it starts to creep up faster and faster every time. Somehow I make it past the 295 merge, past the Barry (Commodore, not jive), and have a critical decision to make. I get off at 320 and wind through backroads. Carefully blowing red lights when I need to in order to get to the blue route north. Goal this whole time was to get to the mechanic I use in Ardmore. I think im going to do it. West Chester Pike is a mess but I know the area well and wind through, stopping for no more than 30 seconds at a time. The car is... At a delicate equilibrium while going 30 or so. I realize at this point I'm going to make it. And I do. And I turn my car off and it makes a horrific jurassic park sound and clearly something has ruptured. Coolant leaks everywhere. Yet still I am relieved.

Ten minutes later my girlfriend texts me that HER car is dead. At 15th and spruce. By this point I'm at a friend's recounting my tale over a beer so I chug that, catch the train and then sit outside in this brutal heat until AAA comes.

While all this is going on our new apartment and it's garbage ac is trying to futilely cool the place after having been off for four days. Not sure it would have mattered much with the power out for twelve hours the day before. It's 86 degrees at 1030pm. I download hotel tonight and get a room a few blocks away, the room from which I am posting this.

RIP my credit card bill.

and JU walk up hill to and from school to his job that he worked 28 hours a day, 9 days a week through the snow while wearing new papers on his feet. Yes, his family had news papers and snow, how lucky.

I just realized that if jersey stopped posting, and I posted 100 times a day for 2 years, I’d only just catch him in post count - and I hardly think I am a posting slouch.

Retail jobs suck... how to make them worse...

Forever 21 sent Atkins diet bars with plus-sized orders, calls it 'oversight'

i have no issues with these plates being standard issue at the golden corral buffet. think it's a win-win for all parties involved.

That changes the calculus as the goal at the corral, as I understand it, is to max out every vector and sleeping in the parking lot afterward is acceptable.

would cover repairs on everything other than wear/tear and cosmetics. The big one is it would cover all the electronics.

Car comes with 6 month/6,000 mile bumper to bumper but the extra coverage would be for 7 years/70,000 miles.

Are you likely to spend more than $500/year on it? Hard to say here without knowing what kind of car/how old but it seems unlikely outside of non-standard repairs/replacements (tires/brakes, etc.). And also important to know what is 'everything'?

Az & Ju have good points. When you said it come with 6 month/6000 that sort of made me a little nervous, but you are talking about spending $480/year on the warranty. I assume that the 7 year/70K is an additional 70,000 miles. Would that cost you $3360? As this is a used car, that coin is likely a bad investment (I might have the cost over time wrong).

It sounds like an extended warranty, and often times it's better to find that yourself. I had one and it was amazing. I had to pay 1200 for it up front. My mechanic/shop was amazed at the coverage and were replacing things left and right before they went bad. It was a Toyota landcruiser and things I knew could get pricey but saved me probably 3k in bills taking into account the cost of the policy and deductibles. Got to be careful with these warranties tho, some seem like rip-offs.
