I thought the butt hurt MRAs put Gillette out of business.

My mom let me read a book about a boy genius named Josh who attempts suicide then goes to a school for super smart kids that was faking the kids suicides so they could attach their brains to super computers. I think I was in 4th grade.

But, I mean, I had seen two hell raiser movies before 3rd grade.

I read Cujo in 4th grade (my first King book - pretty sure it was my first "grown-up" book).

azrider posted this in the dead thread The tree thought to have inspired Dr. Seuss' 'The Lorax' has fallen and I replied there. But I spent at least 5-6 minutes of my time putting together the poem and it got absolutely no notice there.

LOOK AT ME!

The tree was estimated to be about 80 to 100 years old, said Tim Graham, a spokesman for the San Diego Parks and Recreation Department.
He said there is "no definitive cause on why it fell."

I'm puzzled as you are, said puzzled Tim Graham
I'm totally flambustered, really I am.
Perhaps a strong wind grabbed it up from its roots
Or a Brown Bar-Ba-Loot kicked it over
With Brown Bar-ba-Loot boots
Or maybe the lightning caused this tree to be fried
I'm working on answers, I really have tried
If you want guesses, here's one for free
A dim Silverstein fan barked up the wrong tree
Took the branches and trunk leaving only this stump
Giving tree fans the finger, that terrible chump![/quote]

Receiving an emergency work email at 4:51 is fun.

edit: emergency meeting already 1hr long. Someone (who has since taken early retirement) wrote some pretty janky code and the bug was identified moving data into Prod. Not great! I'm also backing up the person who had been working on this for about a year since I last touched any of this so that is also not great.
