You are good. Tomorrow is a mess, but otherwise all is well.

If you do not mind general insanity complicated by unplanned street closures, tomorrow is OK as well. When I say street closure, this is locking down the street and not allowing you to cross to the other side even. I got stuck on the wrong side of the street at Lafayette Square when someone important was coming to the White House. I could not leave the park area for 45 minutes until the convoy arrived and was safely in the gates. That scene will play out different times tomorrow.

The scene on the Mall is something else. Personally the crush of humanity, and the ever increasing security restrictions scratched DC fireworks off my dance card years ago.

Having tanks in DC will make it easier to overthrow it.

A senior administration official told White House pool reporters that Pence’s cancellation was not "related to national security", "not a personal or family issue", nor was anyone "within the administration would soon be fired". It did not have anything to do with the "fire aboard a Russian submarine killed 14 sailors earlier in the day." Marc Short, Pence's chief of staff, told ABC that members of the media would learn "in a few weeks" what led to Pence's reversal.

Transparency! Absolutely normal behavior. Give it a few weeks so that everyone can forget it even happened.

The cost of our great Salute to America tomorrow will be very little compared to what it is worth. We own the planes, we have the pilots, the airport is right next door (Andrews), all we need is the fuel. We own the tanks and all. Fireworks are donated by two of the greats. Nice!

All this time I thought we only leased the tanks.

New Reports: The census forms have begun to be printed w/o the citizenship question compliant with the court order.

Trump: “The News Reports about the Department of Commerce dropping its quest to put the Citizenship Question on the Census is incorrect or, to state it differently, FAKE!”

If that's all it draws criticism from, we really are #$!&@

Lawyers, man. I can't imagine being the prosecutor in this.

That said, I am interested to hear what the grand jury was told.

People over on Redstate are supportive of the prosecutor here. Because of course, this has nothing to do with life, but with control and punishment of women.

This gets a decision today. To prosecute or not. In a man on the street type thing came up 50-50. The prosecute side basically argues 'She started it".

As a parent I don't accept the who started/who finished argument.

Even if you do, that's a reason to drop the charges against the shooter. The woman who got shot got, y'know shot. And lost her pregnancy. How my much more consequences do you want for possibly instigating an argument?

Apparently if you're a poor, black, pregnant woman in Alabama, a lot.

Any chance that Trump succeeds in getting the citizenship question added on to the census questionnaire?

Possibly though from what I've read quite unlikely

The transcript - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1M3Y6vj ... rEPlf/view - of the call today with the plaintiffs and judge and DOJ people is short and worth reading. The DOJ lawyer stumbles around having no idea what is going on because the president is a buffoon.

He cannot defy the Supreme Court so what recourse does he have?

Actually, Roberts left open a door for him to get it in the census. The issue is time. I suspect they will try to push it through or secretly print a version of the census with the question and then dare opponents to stop them from using it. But either way, Roberts left the door open. Trump and his goons at justice just have to find a way to get through the door in time. I heard they plan to try to appeal directly to the SCOTUS and sidestep the nomral processes. They've tried this a few times already on other issues..
