You're not right. The Obama-Trump voters were a real thing, not saying it's the best strategy to try and specifically aim for them, but they existed and helped Trump get elected.

Again, you and Pacino are looking at this from a progressive's perspective. The majority of Democratic voters are centrists and have no qualms about the restoration of the status quo, which is exactly what Biden is promising.

He followed up “nothing will fundamentally change with me in charge” with “you could make fun of a gay waiter at a business lunch five years ago without an issue.”
There are more gaffes coming; the guy can’t keep his foot out of his mouth and the lights are only getting brighter as time goes on.

He apparently used this anecdote before in 2014, but put the time frame as 15 years. He wasn't wrong about how there was a silent acceptance of homophobia not too long ago, but like you said he can't keep his foot out of his mouth.

I think obama was a very special case especially juxtaposed with the trump enigma. Didn't study the link but i don't think obama-drumpf voters can be considered reliable democrat voters i'd bet many voted bush before obama.

Even the most dedicated #nevertrumpers couldn't bring themselves to vote hillary and the same will go for biden

As slug said, you're just not right on this one. The former loyal union Dems who switched to Trump to shake things up made a significant difference, especially in the swing states.

Joe Biden is not likely to be the Dem nominee. Bernie Sanders is not likely to be the Dem nominee. Elizabeth Warren is not likely to be the Dem nominee. Kamala Harris is not likely to be the Dem nominee. Etc. But one of the people running is likely to be the Dem nominee, and Biden is at or close to the top of the list.

Saying he's not going to be the nominee is like saying Bryce isn't going to get a hit in his next plate appearance. He probably won't, but he might, and it shouldn't come as much of a surprise if he does.

I think those who are supporting Biden might want to think about what happened between him and Ukrainian officials in regards to his son. I suspect Trump will have the goods on that issue if there is something there and it won't show up until late October. Note that it came up a few times and then disappeared from the media and from the GOP talking points. Meanwhile, we have the media, who Trump had a pretty good control over in 2016, telling us all that Biden will get the nomination and is the only one that can beat Trump. I smell a set-up.

I mean it’s fair to be “surprised” if Biden gets the nomination if we’re talking Biden v. Field. I make no prediction about who will be the nominee (although I think Elizabeth Warren both can and should be president), just that it will not be Biden.
