Start the inquiry now. There is so much stuff that is going to continue to come out of all the other investigations. There is so much stuff you will have access to NOW.

If you stand by and let trump go without even an inquiry you might as well change the title of the office
I would rather see you lose than win myself

I guess MAGA NOT NAFTA is screwed since Don is firing off tariffs on Mexico starting June 10. Then again, it’s just US citizens paying so who Fing cares.

In a surprise announcement that could compromise a major trade deal, President Donald Trump announced Thursday that he is slapping a 5% tariff on all Mexican imports to pressure the country to do more to crack down on the surge of Central American migrants trying to cross the U.S. border.

Yep, another consumer tax is surely the answer.

My girlfriend had her first tariff experience today. Her company had a shipment from China arrive at Port today. She had to wire the 20% tariff to customs before they would release it.

Mexico tariffs are being put in place using an emergency act normally invoked to cut off terrorist funding.

I love how R’s make people believe they are for “small” government and they let Trump unilaterally act like a tyrant. I continue to stand by the argument that Trump should refuse to leave if he loses the election. I would bet any sum of monies that R’s would do nothing.
Do you think April is too early for a Roger Dorn night?

That's because you are an extreme pessimist. The R's would absolutely insist that Trump respect the will of the people because they would recognize that they would otherwise literally be putting their lives on the line.

North Korea reportedly executes nuclear envoy as part of purge of officials following failed summit between Kim Jong Un and President Trump

I was reminded of this two year old article this morning. Notice that everyone who was restraining Trump's worst impulses have been fired and replaced with yes men.

Economy shows signs of weakening

Impose tariffs due to national security risk at border

Economy accelerates its decline

Blame the democrats for not building the wall and campaign about it just like 2016

Don't think that is going to convince anyone except for the the dyed-in-the-wool Trumpists who will vote for him regardless. All others will vote with their wallets.

If I had a chance, I would like to ask Trump if he really does not know how tariffs work or if knows and just does not give a fuck. The answer, I fear, is that he THINKS he knows how tariffs work but is actually wrong about how they work. Meanwhile, Dow Futures are down nearly 300 fucking points.

Don's banker buds at Deutsches Bank estimate that US new car costs will go up by $1300, and US car production will drop by 3,000,000 units based on the proposed Mexican tariff.

The secret service would guard the new president from another location. The military would transfer them the football. He would be forcibly removed from the white house if need be. There's not a chance in hell.

This doesn't really work as well when you run the executive branch now.

"As a matter of law. In other words we didn't agree with the legal analysis, a lot of the legal analysis in the report. It did not reflect the views of the department," Barr said. "It was the views of a particular lawyer or lawyers and so we applied what we thought was the right law."

So Barr disagreed with the findings of the investigation he was closing down at the behest of his boss and shockingly determined that he knew better about the situation then people who actually investigated whereas he is new to the cause and ill informed. I guess I need to catch the whole CBS interview to see what context there is to this statement.

What do Dems stand to gain? The Senate will not convict. Even if they did we would then have President Pence, which would be perhaps even worse than Trump.

Pence would likely have a better chance of re-election in 2020 than Trump as well.

The pragmatic approach is to keep leaking damaging info out in dribs and drabs over the next 17 months. November 2020 is just around the corner and voters will be empowered to remove the buffoon then.

pragmatism is dead

the man is a criminal. the only way to bring him to account is impeachment hearings.

Haven't used my worthless poly sci degree in a few years, but let me see if I still have anything left here.

Harry Reid/nuclear option. Mitch McConnell saying he'd vote to confirm a justice in 2020 after saying he wouldn't vote Garland in the final year of Obama's term. Chuck Schumer rolling over on any number of topics. These people want to stomp on the Democrats' throat, rip their insides out, and fuck them over sideways in any way, shape, or form possible.

Playing nice gets you nowhere these days. As pac says, pragmatism is beyond dead. It's my firm belief that impeachment proceedings do not hurt the Democrats. Feel free to disagree with that, it's just one guy's opinion. Trump needs to be dragged through the mud, every bit of dirty laundry needs to be aired. Sitting back and waiting around for Trump to stop being an asshole gets you absolutely nowhere. It's not only an option for the Democrats at this point, it's the only way to approach things without appearing completely feckless. Reason has gone out the window. The time is now. Impeach.

As a Never Trumper R, I don't think impeachment hurts the Dems and it helps them maintain credibility. Trump's base is going to show up to vote no matter what. I don't think anyone is undecided on him.
