I've seen lots of puzzling things on this board, but this might be the most. she's recognizably female even in 12 MS-Dos pixels.
This is closer to the image I was thinking of, which admittedly still looks more like a woman, but if you're not really paying much attention maybe you don't notice. I don't know:
Plus, I’m sure at the time, this character was the only “person” I ever heard of named “Carmen”, which always sounded more like man’s name to me. I also thought the game was really boring, so I don't think I played it more than a couple times and got bored quickly, so probably wasn’t paying much attention. Or I was just wasn’t a very bright kid.
