This is ahistorical nonsense. The final VP choices came down to Christie, Gingrich, Flynn and Pence. People weren't tripping over themselves to be Trump's VP choice - it was viewed as a dead end. And Pence was by far the best choice to mollify wavering evangelicals plus keep party leaders happy.

In fact, he's the perfect asset because they had to know Trump would go down in flames. Now Pence gets to be President for 1.5 years, avoid major controversies, and have a real chance at winning in 2020 when Trump has/had about 5% chance.
One of the first things dems should do is open an investigation of why Pence lied about knowing about Flynn. This will allow them to explore Russian/Turkish connections.
That has always been my biggest fear. Frankly, as much as I despise the "man", I'd rather Trump finish his term and we move on from there to a legit Dem candidate.
If you'd rather Trump be president than Pence, you should stop calling Trump Adolf.

Made up numbers. As long as the economy holds, Trump's chance of winning are, if I were making up numbers based on history, 90% or better.

Nope, Christie was going to be the choice and Manafort kept a plane on the runway and talked Trump into Pence. Pence was actually very unpopular in Indiana and there were other evangelical choices.

I never called him that. I'm just saying that it makes sense to not want Pence as Prez when Trump is now pinned down in terms of what he can get passed and is unlikely to be reelected. Pence would be new blood and people would have to try to move towards some reconciliation, thus giving ground and allowing him to maybe get some things passed. I think Pence as president could be more damaging than Trump on domestic issues, though Pence would be less likely to call martial law and try to make himself dictator.
