Not at all, actually. She is using social media to connect to people. She's also highlighting some very important issues and inconsistencies in our system.

She tweeted that when she was a bartender she had to pay twice as much for health insurance as she will as a member of Congress. For some reason every tweet she likes appears on my feed. She liked over a dozen people quote tweeting her saying how incredible and revolutionary this idea was. People have been saying that shit for 20 years.

When I bought private insurance 7 years ago it was $120/month. Hers is more an argument about Congress creating special rules for themselves.

I get it. It's that Congress gets these great things and the American people don't.

It's something that has been said by other members of Congress for a long time.

I think she's cool but she hasn't served one day in office yet. She hasn't written one bill or sat on one committee. Let's just slow down before she is crowned some sort of progressive savior.

Yeah, I know. It's like someone types AOC and some vague Twitter references and we're all expected to know what's being referred to. Sometimes this thread is treated like people are live-tweeting their own Twitter thread. It's odd.

This is why I like that her office is so close to Pelosi's. I hope that they hang out a lot. I think that AOC has a ton of potential...she's young, smart and progressive (and let's face it being hot doesn't hurt her). It would be really great if Nancy went all Obi-Wan and taught her how to play the game.
