Depends on the ads. What transparency would make a meaningful difference on these things? If some group is running an ad saying their opponent fucking loves abortion or their opponent wants sick people to die or whatever, I think the ad viewer thinks the group paying for the ad doesn't like the opponent. Does "Sheldon Adelson was the top donor to this group" or "Paul Ryan is the top fundraiser for this group" as a tag have any meaningful impact? There's transparency in the FEC reports, and I think there should be throughout any of the non-profits that get involved in any electioneering. But on ads I think it is an empty complaint.
