Isn't he sort of just doing what you'd expect at this point? He's got the name recognition and some of the South Carolina base who has grown up with him over his time in the Senate. They might not all be Trump lovers, but there's a good chance they like Lindsey. Now, he's just moving right to snatch up some of the Trump voters so he has their support, too. He won't be beloved by them all, but he's going to try to get the support of non-Trump and Trump Republicans.

I can believe that Kavanaugh doesn’t remember sexually assaulting Dr. Ford if he did this, but I don’t know why he didn’t withdraw when it came out that she was super credible.
