Reporting that Don is going with context, misreporting, and fake news over his ranting in St. L. Srsly going with basically 'didn't happen'.

along with the Canada stuff, he also told Boeing that he wants a better deal on a fighter jet order, and if he didn't get it he might go with an alternate vendor. Glad to see that he has no idea how procurement works, and why a low quantity, boutique good like fighter jets might be expensive.

Senate voted 67-31 yesterday to gut Dodd-Frank

Banks with more than $50 billion in assets are now considered “too big to fail” and are subject to the toughest regulations, including a yearly stress test to prove they could survive another period of economic turmoil. The Senate legislation, shepherded by Banking Committee Chairman Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), would raise that threshold to $250 billion in assets, potentially allowing several high-profile financial institutions, including American Express, Ally Financial and Barclays, to escape the extra regulatory scrutiny.

The bill has largely been marketed as long-overdue help for small community banks and credit unions. The legislation, for example, would exempt banks with less than $10 billion in assets from the “Volcker rule,” which bars banks from making risky wagers with their own money. The bill would also exempt many small banks from a Dodd-Frank requirement that financial institutions report more detailed data on whom they lend to. The industry has complained that both measures are too cumbersome and time-consuming.

Exempting small banks from the mortgage data requirement would weaken the government’s ability to enforce fair-lending requirements, making it easier for community banks to hide discrimination against minority mortgage applicants and harder for regulators to root out predatory lenders, consumer advocates say.

Mar 15, 2018 06:11:39 AM - Larry Kudlow will be my Chief Economic Advisor as Director of the National Economic Council. Our Country will have many years of Great Economic & Financial Success, with low taxes, unparalleled innovation, fair trade and an ever expanding labor force leading the way! #MAGA

Kudlow firmly denied that the United States would enter a recession in 2007, or that it was in the midst of a recession in early to mid-2008. In December 2007, he wrote: "The recession debate is over. It's not gonna happen. Time to move on. At a bare minimum, we are looking at Goldilocks 2.0. (And that's a minimum). The Bush boom is alive and well. It's finishing up its sixth splendid year with many more years to come"

There is some debate about his work versus his academic training. He has a history degree (which he seems to not grasp between dribble down and missing that tariff played a significant role in the 1929 crash), and public affairs masters work at Princeton.

Desperately Seeking Larry (Kudlow)

I don't trust anyone with a degree in history to be the key player advising on the economy, especially if they espouse policies that have clearly failed, and refuse to acknowledge facts.

WRT folks with history Degrees, I am actually coming around to being concerned that there is less and less understanding of history as it is devalued, but being well rounded and understanding the ways of the world, successes and failures, is rather critical. History repeating itself is a very real concern to me.

so which vector will Lamb's win go? Recount, or law suit? There is too much time to just drag it out until November. GOP leadership is calling the win a wake up call, but the sad now text book play of don't admit defeat is apparently in play, at least at the local level.

Oklahoma is switching to Nitrogen gas for execution
so basically using suffocation

the American Veterinary Medical Association deemed the process inappropriate for euthanizing mammals and said it would take more than seven minutes to bring about the death of a 70-pound (32-kg) pig.

John Kennedy sounded sane talking about the 1st and 2nd amendment, but then tried to explain a slightly softer stance on the 2nd by talking about a jihadist blowing up a school killing children, which is, of course, something that has never happened, unlike school shootings. Holy spoking shat that analogy is insanely ridiculous, and completely shredded anything that seemed thoughtful that he said before.

He moved on to taking a strong stance on not allowing airlines to place pets in overhead compartments as a legislative priority. Essentially he ended up as an complete asshat. Good old CNN on in the cafe this morning, the swap to Fox come for the lunch crowd (or the golf channel for no good reason).

Another Trump lawyer was at the arbitration hearing that has nothing to do with Trump. She got an invite, but Ms. Clifford and her representation did not.

Like Cohen, Martin claimed that when she signed the documents she was working in a private capacity, not for the Trump Organization — though she is still employed at the company full-time, and used the address of her office at the Trump National Golf Club, Los Angeles, on the documents.

Indeed N2O. But in the Big OK, it would be marketing. Adding more N to the O already in the room.

They can use racing grade to save money. No one cares if it is blended with hydrogen sulfide. You can also use the empty vacuum cylinder to finish the job.

I don't want you playing chief economist either, but you are smart enough to be able to see grave missteps of the past and not think that you can repeat the same steps producing better just because. The new chief economist seems to actively deny what is happening IRL, and doubles down by promoting failed theory as wins. If this were fantasy league government, or some board game, sure it could be fun, but this is a logical world with proven rules and explainable outcomes. I would dare say that competent practitioners, and appliers of history as academia would acknowledge, and honor these learning.

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

We do have a Trade Deficit with Canada, as we do with almost all countries (some of them massive). P.M. Justin Trudeau of Canada, a very good guy, doesn’t like saying that Canada has a Surplus vs. the U.S.(negotiating), but they do...they almost all do...and that’s how I know!

So, we have a trade deficit with Mexico, so we must have one with Canada too.
