He can brag that his bellicose buffoonery saved the world from nuclear annihilation.

FFS, in the Stormy settlement Jessica Drake (AKA Angel Ryan) is named. This is the person that the campaign said that DJT does not know her and does not want to know her during the election, then days later Angel Ryan's name makes its way into the Secret Settlement. Idiots.

Its not the act, its the coverup.

This could just be wish fulfillment, because Heller is in a tight race and SCOTUS composition drives conservative voters more. Let's hope he's wrong, and let's also hope that we somehow get the Senate back.

Would bet someone retires in June, but might be Thomas rather than Kennedy.

Also not sure it'd be the biggest issue in a Senate race as I would assume they'd move heaven and earth to get the nominee confirmed quickly.

If there’s a SC vacancy this summer I think we should wait until the Presidential election to let the voters weigh in on the matter.

I know right? Especially since the election has already begun by virtue of an R candidate already announcing!

It's not a useful thought for my own mental stability, but it's difficult not to think how different the response would have been had Obama agreed to talks with North Korea ( or what it was when he had talks with Iran).

I mean there's mild ridicule, yes, because it's Trump, bu no one pounding the table screaming about "negotiating with terrorists."

Should be easy. Democrats filibuster any Kennedy replacement. With Republicans down to 51 members and McCain ailing, it would take all 50 Republicans to go nuclear, and Collins and Murkowski will be very hesitant to cross that line for a doctrinaire Federalist Society type nominee replacing a moderate.

It is a very good thing they didn't decide to filibuster Gorsuch and allow Republicans to pull the nuclear trigger then when they were in a position of strength.

Feb 6, 2016 - Donald Trump explains how he would make deals with Congress. "With Congress you have to get everybody in a room. You have to get them to agree with what you want," he said. "You have to get people in. Grab em, hug em, kiss em, and get the deal done. But it's got to be the deal that you want."

Well, that is some word salad from back in the day.

That is pretty embarrassing in my opinion. It's not really surprising, since Trump is an undisciplined buffoon who does things without consulting his advisors.

Most likely Putin put NK up to this to give Trump the appearance of a win. Without Russia, NK falls to pieces, so they'd do anything Putin said.
