It’s break out the old saw Sunday. I’m just flying through a couple of the morning shows and I’ve heard repeatedly things like A.R. 15 is just a hunting rifle with some cosmetic changes, criminals are going to get guns no matter what, background check still at work because shooter XYZ was not covered by a background check, putting one guard at the school is not going to do it because that’s the first guy who gets killed so it’s a waste of money to put cards at schools, and some guy says that 98% of mass public shootings happen in a gun free zone. I guess the last ones a little perplexing because I’m not sure what qualifies as a public shooting, but it sounds like an IRA wordplay to chain up only school shootings.

I have to be honest the thing that I find most offensive, maybe because it’s the most dangerous where a lot of the rest of this is hyperbola, is that the rifle that I have that was used for deer hunting back in the day is actually much more powerful than an AR 15, but the differences I could not work my way through my three shot clip with any rate of fire as I need open and close the bolt repeatedly and then aim again. Honestly it would’ve been just as useful to be a single shot because the only time I ever fired more than one shot from it was when I was saving it in.
