ICE is planning huge raids in the Bay Area in California.

U.S. immigration officials have begun preparing for a major sweep in San Francisco and other Northern California cities in which federal officers would look to arrest more than 1,500 undocumented people while sending a message that immigration policy will be enforced in the sanctuary state, according to a source familiar with the operation.

Acting ICE Director Thomas Homan slammed Brown for signing SB54, which he said undermined public safety, and signaled he was prepared to take action.

He said at the time that the federal government would not allow California to be “a sanctuary state for illegal aliens,” and would have no choice but to “conduct at-large arrests in local neighborhoods and at worksites, which will inevitably result in additional collateral arrests, instead of focusing on arrests at jails and prisons where transfers are safer for ICE officers and the community.”

YOU DONT HAVE TO ARREST THEM YOU HORRIBLE PERSON. What exactly would make them think that someone working alongside someone they are looking for is also undocumented? How would they know? How would they decide to figure out which people they aren't there to serve to inspect? What would possibly tip an ICE agent off?

Also, blatantly saying you are going for California because you dislike that they passed a law that simply shields people who report crimes is absurd. Also, perhaps the feds could reimburse the locals for holding someone?

Ego needs stroking. El presidente heading to good old Coraopolis so he can be with his voters to hear what a good job he is doing, really better then anyone could have expected.

I am honestly completely confused by how "this core" is so rabid, and completely unmoored from reality. I guess it is the fragmentation of how people get their news, and a blind devotion to knowing in your heart of hearts that you, personally, are completely correct. He is going to a place that has only ever been GOP red while the government is teetering on shutting down because his new version of negotiation is to just blow up the discussion to save face with hard line infiltrators that did not belong in the discussion? He will not explain to McConnell what he would sign, after saying he would be accountable. Sad times.

The Wall is the Wall, it has never changed or evolved from the first day I conceived of it. Parts will be, of necessity, see through and it was never intended to be built in areas where there is natural protection such as mountains, wastelands or tough rivers or water.....

....The Wall will be paid for, directly or indirectly, or through longer term reimbursement, by Mexico, which has a ridiculous $71 billion dollar trade surplus with the U.S. The $20 billion dollar Wall is “peanuts” compared to what Mexico makes from the U.S. NAFTA is a bad joke!

I guess Kelly got it wrong yesterday. Then again, when he said from sea to shining sea, it seemed pretty clear, especially when he doubled down to insist on it.

I don't have a link but some republicans are starting to use the line that medicaid expansion is partially to blame for the opioid epidemic.

Which in the absence of evidence contrary to that I still say: hahahahahahha

I guess people gaining access to medication means they will get addicted? it's not the pharma companies that pushed all this shit, it's the publicly administered insurance plan!

It isn't surprising that ICE would attract the worst of the worst in terms of racist law enforcement.

To sum up, at least eight of the “Fake News” winners resulted in corrections, with two reports prompting suspensions or resignations. Two of the winners were simply tweets that were quickly corrected and never resulted in news articles. One was an opinion article in which the author later retracted his prediction.

Let’s it put it this way: If the president admitted error as frequently, he would earn far fewer Pinocchios.

And last, but not least: “RUSSIA COLLUSION!” Russian collusion is perhaps the greatest hoax perpetrated on the American people. THERE IS NO COLLUSION!”

If there is no collusion, why are you (the WH) trying so hard to keep Steve Bannon from talking to Congress and Mueller? Why won't Adolf release his tax returns? What are you afraid of? Innocent people do not try so hard to fight transparency.

Trump tweeted his support for (Rick) Saccone Thursday morning, arguing that he will help to move his agenda forward in Washington.

But the tweet could put the White House and the Republican National Committee in a tricky spot ahead of the visit as the source of funding for the trip.

The taxpayers fund presidential travel for official trips but political parties are required to reimburse the White House for a portion of a trip that involves political activity.

Laugh lines for the depraved -

1. Trump is staying out of the UK so May can focus on governing, and managing Brexit.
2. Shathollers from Haiti stay out! No visa for you. Mission Accomplished!
3. WikiLeaks, I love WikiLeaks, until today: Trump administration is a 'frequent source of false information'

The Pope married two flight attendants while transiting on this South America trip. they had a civil ceremony in 2010 because the earthquake got in their way of a church ceremony. The Pope stepped in and took care of official church business on the flight.

A side note, the Pope is flying commercial charter? He was on a LATAM flight in and Airbus 321.**

** My curiosity got the best of me, so I looked up Papal Aircraft, and there is not one. The Pope most often flies a chartered Alitalia aircraft, that has nothing special about it, its simply a chartered flight. When he gets to whatever country he is going to he flies the biggest branded national carrier, so he apparently flew American Airlines in the US. There is a side note that the press is welcomed aboard at business fare rates to sit in economy, covering most, if not all, of the cost of the charter.

Don't Catholics have to marry in a physical church or it doesn't count?

Issue was said to be earthquake damage that caused them to go civil, but yes there is a church requirement. The Pope likely gets special dispensation to declare anything a church.
