Buttons for Buffoons - POLITICS

While North and South Korea hold actual talks to ease tensions, the US is thinking of ways to attack North Korea without starting war. One would imagine a pre-emptive strike would be a declaration of war, but I guess not!

the serious people may be as dangerous as the crazy person
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Secretary of Defense James Mattis have urged Trump to proceed with caution, while national security adviser H.R. McMaster is advocating for a “bloody nose” strike. According to the Journal, a bloody nose attack is called so because it would “react to some nuclear or missile test with a targeted strike against a North Korean facility to bloody Pyongyang’s nose and illustrate the high price the regime could pay for its behavior.”

Also sometimes referred to as the “escalate dispute into nuclear Armageddon and destroy entire world” strike.

PA Republicans are going to prioritize gutting the social safety net and attacking the commonwealth's most vulnerable citizens for 2018. The DUMBOCRATS countered by saying they want to raise the minimum wage for all the mooches in our state!

[Thai Prime Minister]Prayuth Chan-ocha briefly spoke to an audience outside Government House in Bangkok, before the [cardboard] life-sized replica was brought out.

"If you want to ask any questions on politics or conflict, ask this guy," Mr Prayuth said, then walked away waving.

See, it could be the same anywhere.

Steve Alford, R (KS state representative, not the UCLA coach) addressing a group of his constituents about why he thinks Marijuana should be illegal

Basically any way you say it, marijuana is an entry drug into the higher drugs. What you really need to do is go back in the '30s, when they outlawed all types of drugs in Kansas and across the United States. What was the reason why they did that? One of the reasons why, I hate to say it, was that the African-Americans, they were basically users and they basically responded the worst to those drugs just because of their character makeup, their genetics and that. And so basically what we’re trying to do is we’re trying to do a complete reverse, with people not remembering what has happened in the past.

Ah, fuck it. Let's just go back to the 20's and 86 booze again too.

Seriously though, in our current society, there appears to be no bigger group of gateway drugs than prescription pain meds. What say we do something about the medical community that is creating drug addicts.

traderdave is completely right about the genesis of our opiod crisis. I am not completely sure how it jumped into the mainstream from over prescription, but that is how it started.

We could all use a laugh, right...

Lewandowski slammed a five-member federal board — four of whom Trump nominated — as part of the “deep state” for rejecting Energy Secretary Rick Perry’s plan to boost coal and nuclear power.

“The deep state is very real,” Lewandowski tweeted, with a link to a New York Times story about FERC’s decision. “More government officials who don’t support the Trump agenda.”

Lewandowski is pretty reliably disconnected from reality for a routine laugh.

TRUMP, word for word: "I think a clean DACA bill, to me, is a DACA bill, but we take care of the 800,000 people ... but I think, to me, a clean bill is a bill of DACA, we take care of them, and we also take care of security."

A clean bill is like a Christmas Tree - you like how we're saying Christmas again, we used to not be able to say that, where you get to put all these riders and additional stipulations on the bill. So to me a clean DACA bill helps the recipients, builds a while, further cuts taxes, slays Obamacare, and gets a new button case for my big, beautiful button. To me that's a clean DACA bill, it would be the cleanest bill, and the people will love it, believe me.
