Of course Rasmussen is like +10 over every other poll. That said, the crowing has begun!

Trump's approval /disapproval hasn't really budged in the last 5 months, so I'm as sick of the crowing when it slides down by decimals. It just is what it is, barring war (which will bring it up) or stock market collapse (down) . I'm not rooting for either, mind you. Of course, he's still governing like people care what he said in 2015, so it will be "interesting" to see what happens when he runs out of those talking points.

Here is the point, Rasmussen has Trump's year 1 equal to Obama for the feel good moment, but it is somewhere between 5 and 10 points lower. Yes, that Rasmussen poll blows Trump, and that is Trump whole thing, bit it is less then reality (NBC has Trump at 41%). The point is that Trump is horrible for America n every front bit the economy he inherited, and truth be told he has done nothing to stop that run away train so it is disingenuous at best to say that Don has done shit for the economy. So what he has done was flip the courts, shred anything that touches the environment, and won by doing pretty my nothing. 35-41-46% is a sham.

yeh, maybe he's trying to provoke someone so he can jump on it. The good thing is that everyone knows he's crazy.

But for the record, January to March would be an ideal time for a false flag. It would help cover what's coming down the pike in the Mueller investigation and it's close enough to the mid-terms that people won't have time to revolt against his war. The GOP might be able to ride that patriotism wave to the mid-terms. They'll still take a big hit, but it might save their majorities.

"Breaking News" - Heard the yard barkers teasing the Devin Nunes blocked subpoena for 'team Trump'. I am not sure who that all involves. 2018 starting off where 2017 left off.

Sort of glad I missed it, but I guess the other Welcome to 2018 tweet was the great return of Crooked Hillary! Reads like a confused patient off his medication, AKA, the way he speaks when off the leash.

edit -

This was the impetus for the tweet, you know, while he was not watching TV...

VA knew about voters being placed in the wrong district since at least 2015! It was kept rather quiet, and claimed to be fixed, however the close election separated by 73 votes in the blender district makes this a problem. What happens next?

James O'Keefe vs teacher union:
The AFT-Michigan, a statewide teacher's union, filed the lawsuit in September, saying Project Veritas used an operative to infiltrate the union. A Wayne County judge issued a temporary restraining order, barring the organization from using or publishing any information it obtained from the union.

But the matter was moved to federal court in October. And Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Linda Parker not only revoked the temporary restraining order, but also denied AFT Michigan's request for a preliminary injunction.

Among the judge's findings: The documents allegedly obtained by the operative were not trade secrets. Parker also found that there is no certainty that publication of the documents could harm the union, and that imposing an injunction would infringe on the defendant's First Amendment rights.

Project Veritas always acts in good faith, so I'm sure it'll be fair and just.
The lawsuit was filed against the group and Marisa Jorge. It claims that Jorge -- using the name Marissa Perez -- is an operative of the organization and obtained an internship with AFT Michigan, claiming to be a University of Michigan student.

Jorge, the lawsuit said, sought and was given access to "a substantial amount of confidential and proprietary information including databases, confidential conferences and the status of grievances."

Union officials were buoyed that Parker wrote in her ruling that the union likely would succeed on its argument that Jorge's actions amounted to a breach of duty of loyalty.

"Plaintiff alleges that Defendant Jorge breached her duty of loyalty by fraudulently misrepresenting herself, misusing and mishandling confidential information, and failing to disclose that she worked for an organization whose interests conflicted with Plaintiff."

Parker, in a 27-page ruling filed today, noted that the AFT Michigan had identified 221 documents Jorge allegedly misappropriated. The key question? Were there trade secrets in those documents and does it violate Michigan's uniform trade secrets law.

The union argued that the documents were trade secrets and confidential.

"The information is not known throughout the public education community; it was assembled as part of the Federation's overall strategy regarding charter schools," the union said in court documents, as outlined in Parker's ruling.

why would project veritas want to know how the union is going to handle the assault by charter schools on the public education system? hmm

kinda amazing O'Keefe has the funds to be doing all these fake stings. O'Keefe is mainstream GOP.

The number of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty dropped sharply in 2017, marking the second-lowest toll in more than 50 years.

As of Thursday, 128 officers have died in the line of duty this year, with 44 shot and killed. That's down 10% from 2016, when 143 officers died, with 66 gunned down, according to data released by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, a nonprofit aimed at honoring officers and improving safety.

The only other year with fewer deaths in the past five decades was 2013, when 116 officers were killed.

Also, crime is expected to drop to some of the lowest rates on record.

I guess we're not a crime-ridden hellhole. We're great again!

the judiciary is why it's probably more important to win the Senate than the House; need to start actually vetting these judges they're confirming:
A Bay Area federal judge barred the Trump administration on Thursday from authorizing employers to deny birth control coverage to women for religious or moral reasons, saying the government abruptly imposed the sweeping changes in October with no public notice or input.

The new contraceptive rules had already been halted last Friday by a federal judge in Philadelphia in a ruling the administration plans to appeal. In issuing his own nationwide injunction, U.S. District Judge Haywood Gilliam of Oakland cited the potentially profound impact on women who had gained access to contraceptive care, without charge, in the health insurance law championed by President Barack Obama.

'gay panic' defense finally coming to an end in some states

wtf, I didn't realize this was still a thing:
Starting Monday, attorneys in Illinois will be barred from using the approach after a state law passed — without a single “no” vote in either the state House or Senate — making it the second state in the country to ban the defense in the courtroom.

There isn’t an exact definition, but a gay or trans panic defense is essentially when someone doesn’t realize they’re interacting with an LGBTQ person and becomes so overcome with rage when they realize it that they physically attack the person in the heat of the moment.

It’s estimated that gay and trans panic defenses have been used in at least 23 states since the 1960s, according to the Williams Institute, a think tank at the UCLA School of Law.

Gay and trans panic defenses have allowed people accused of killing LGBTQ people to receive lesser sentences, and in some cases, avoid any punishment, according to the institute.

California was the first state to ban the defense, in 2014, and the American Bar Assn. pushed for a ban in 2013.

and Pakistan is having an emergency meeting based on one of the tweets, or on tweet number one, 2018 edition. Who says that his half cocked tweets don't matter? Maybe John Kelly should read them. We are going to get tweeted into something serious shortly if the reactions to the twitter habit continue to escalate. Policy by tweet is perceptibly happening.
