The news outlet cited an aide to a House Republican, who said the timeline will prevent automatic spending cuts to some programs, including Medicare.

WRT the posting yesterday about why he would wait, which is to avoid bad news for the mid-term elections.

Wow, that is a good find. That specific benefit does not impact me at all but I would imagine that there are multiple provisions just like that one that will nickle and dime away some people's tax gains from the new bill. I guess this was just another sneaky way to have lower and middle class families subsidize the average $21,000 increase to those between $500k and $1m of taxable income and the average $70,000 increase to those over $1m in taxable income. I doubt may of those people ride the subway.

It would have paired nicely with the demise of the credit for EVs, but that was somehow saved. Perhaps an interesting battle between Oil lobby, and Coal. Coal wins again!

For anyone interested, the UN is debating and voting on the resolution that condemns the U.S.'s (Adolf's) recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This is probably a win-win for Trump, correct? I mean, if the council votes the resolution down, Trump gets to say they bowed to the pressure of his Administration and if they vote Yes, Trump gets to throw more red meat to his base about how he does whats right no matter what others think or so. Oh, and I took names so those folks are going to get their comeuppance soon enough. Either way, I hope it is a unanimous Yes (other than US, obviously) as a giant Fuck You to Trump.
