Trying to think of the right sports analogy for libs celebrating tight win over reprehensible predophile in AL Senate race in Trump America and the best I have is Giants giving Davis Webb a Gatorade bath after a 10-9 win vs Nick foles this Sunday

I mean it's an R+14 state, sort of the equivalent of a Republican winning Vermont (a governor just did)

the only states with a more Republican lean that have a Democratic senator is West Virginia at +19 and North Dakota at +17

it's a good win, regardless of the opponent

They beat a Republican in Alabama, your analogy is ignorant at best. Yes, a pedophile should be easily defeated, but Alabama normally favors Republicans by 20+ points*. Also, the Senate is now in play for 2018 and the margin to prevent horrible policies is 2 Republicans instead of 3. This results was fucking huge and to belittle spits in the face of its importance.

As the champagne dries into the carpets, and takes on that day 2 stink I can clearly see that celebration needs to not over take the reality that there is work to do. So we want to avoid the Nero and his fiddle analogy with up coming elections.

I don't buy the complacency argument. There are people signing up to run for office in massive numbers and Trump's approval rating keeps dropping. The Democrats are motivated and organized. There is no resting on ones laurels right now, and I cannot see that changing in the next 8-9 months.

Who know that Omarosa would act whacked? These stage personalities are adopted realities. I do like the crazy stories that are flowing, including wanting to bring her bridal party to the WH for pictures.

Some guy from Lancaster County talking about the promise of tax cuts from the time of his grandmother martin, and praising Trump for getting it done with a Thank you. Everyone is renovating their homes, and sending kids to college... wait for the wake up call when reality hits. One reality is that it seems that people will be saving $2-300/month. The guy with him and his wife in grad school... are not smart enough to know that they are going to get screwed.

Jeff Mateer and Brett Talley will not move forward through the confirmation process in the Senate. So that is nice. Guess the Rs draw the line at transgenders are the spawn of satan.

Let me preface this by saying I think Rubio will buckle under legitimate pressure, but boy is he pissed about the tax bill.

Well, thanks to social media I have learned that in 2010 the turtle delayed any votes in senate until R scott brown could be seated after the 2010 massachusetts special election. Of course he was replacing a D (Paul Kirk).

So now I think it's time to raise caine and prevent the vote on the tax bill until jones is seated.

It was Harry Reid (D) who delayed votes, the Democrats had a majority in the Senate.

I saw a commercial during the Pacers/Thunder game talking about how much the tax bill will help people in NJ and how great Tom MacArthur is for supporting it. I wrote him a pretty strongly worded email about what a douchebag he is and donated some money to his probable opponent Andy Kim (which was my first time donating to a political campaign ever).
