Pocahontas, pedos, polls, prosecutors, and pun-free politics

Trump on Monday will call for an 85 percent cut to Utah’s 1.3 million acre Bears Ears National Monument created in 2016 by then-President Barack Obama, and a 50 percent cut to the state’s 1.9 million acre Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument created by Bill Clinton in 1996, according to documents published last week by the Washington Post.

Republican Congressman Rob Bishop of Utah, chair of the House Natural Resources Committee, is expected to introduce legislation after Trump's announcement to carry out the cuts, a House aide said. It is unclear if the measure would have a chance of passing the Republican-controlled body.

These are the kind of childish, go against the grain type decisions that cannot be undone. This asshole is literally destroying America.

C'mon, there's already a big road there. Might as well add some more concrete.

If this is true--the Republicans kept the corporate AMT, but forgot to lower the rate, eliminating many corporate tax deductions?

Lots of interesting quotes, but this one seems especially interesting:

McConnell’s mistake has two big implications. First and foremost, it means the Senate will almost certainly have to vote on a tax bill again before one goes into law. Previously, it looked as though Paul Ryan had enough votes in the House to pass the Senate bill as is. This took pressure off the party’s conference committee (the House and Senate leaders tasked with reconciling each chamber’s bills). Worst-case scenario, the House could just rubber-stamp the Senate’s work. Now, that option is deeply undesirable. It remains overwhelmingly likely that Republicans will pass a giant tax cut. But their task is now a bit more difficult.

I, for one, am STUNNED that a hastily-edited, partly-handwritten bill passed at 2am might contain some scrivener's errors.

buncha liars up there defending the bill. amazing how low the US is sunk in 12 months.

wondering what effect this bill will have on charitable contributions. It will definitely have some, but I'm not sure to what magnitude.
