I think the argument is that a lot of people in the middle class are going to get about $500 more a year for several years and, by the time the tax breaks for them expire, they will too for lack of health insurance, so it’s all good. Oh, and in the meantime they won’t have to pay taxes for their private jet maintenance contracts and they will be exempt from the estate tax.

I still have about 30k in loans. That is pretty crushing.

I don't think this can be done yet. At the most basic level, the two bills don't even have the same number of tax brackets.

Soren, I sincerely hope you love your house because estimates are it’s going to fall 10-15% in value and, if you have to move and even if you’re fortunate enough to get an acceptable price, the interest on your new mortgage won’t be tax deductible so you may have to trade down, rather than up. And since you’re SALT deduction will also be limited, you might want to look at state’s with lower SALT. I hear Alabama is nice this time of year.

Even if you could figure it out from a strict income tax standpoint, to get the full picture you need to factor in the decrease in the value of your home (if you own), higher student debt costs, higher health insurance premiums, no medical expense deductions in the event of a catastrophic medical event or a loved one with high medical expenses, higher costs for elder care, etc. And, of course, you’ll need to consider the additional long-term costs when the individeal tax breaks are either phased out and/or other government support is cut.

Is the charitable deduction gone? Have the preachers found out about that?

I think they retained it, BUT since more Americans will no longer itemize the deduction will be unusable.

Agree 100%; the personal income tax is just one piece to the puzzle.

I love where I'm at but between the mortgage and my student loans we're over 300k

Trump is so dumb. There he claims he knew Flynn lied to the FBI. He wasn't going to fire Flynn. He tried he best to make sure Flynn was still on his staff.

Just keeps adding to this obstruction case with his own dumb words.

Again, Mr. President, if his actions during the transition were lawful, he wouldn't have had to lie. The real problem here is that you have no fucking idea where the legal/illegal line is. In fact, for you and your cronies, that line is marked with invisible ink.
