Quite a name drop there 1.

It could be that "Skywalker" gets used as a title for a new type of (more balanced?) Jedi or something. Or it could be Kylo. Or Rey is actually a Skywalker (please no). Or maybe there's some other progeny out there we don't know.
As for Palpatine, he could be a Force Ghost. Or a clone, as had happened in some stories (stuff that's now non-canonically I think ). Or he might not be alive but just appearing in the film as a flashback or a video of him or something.
Man it's all muddled. I really hope it comes to a satisfying conclusion. I've generally enjoyed the new films, but the way Disney seems to be making it up as they go along does not make me confident.

This is absurd. Life support? It made 620 million dollars! RotS is going to make more because it's the finale of the trilogy.Brantt wrote:IX will end up being a good movie because JJ Abrams is in charge, but it's amazing to me the damage Rian Johnson did with TLJ. He did the unthinkable and has the Star Wars franchise on life support. How is that even possible?

Both previous trilogies followed a similar trajectory, box office wise.
TPM: 475m
AotC: 311m
RotS: 380m
Star Wars: 470m
Empire: 290m
Jedi: 309m
Solo 'bombed' because it wasn't very good and no one gives a #$!&@ about origin stories for a 40 year old character. Everyone already had in their mind who Han Solo was and didn't care to be shown where he started.
Houshphandzadeh wrote:I liked TLJ, but shouldn't any blame for larger issues lie with whoever made the decision to have a separate team write and direct the middle piece of a trilogy? how was that supposed to play out
