Its an interesting area. There was a lot of Northam support, based on seeing yard signs when I was hiking, East of the blue ridge but the 'other side of the mountain' I would bet is a lot more red. Richmond will know a lot better, but I do not see that district flipping. Blacksburg and Charolettesville are not in this district.
Moorish American Nationals believe black Americans are descendants of an ancient Moroccan empire. Most members are law-abiding citizens, but a splinter group believes their ancestors were here before the U.S. government so many federal and local laws don’t apply to them.

“I believe it is very opportunistic and they are just looking for their chance to get on some liberal talk show. I’m sure they’ve probably been offered money by entities that surround the Clintons and that side of the world. We know they will pay to dirty anyone’s name that’s in their way. If you believe for a second that any of these are true then shame on these women for not coming forward in the last 30 years, it’s not like this guy hasn’t been in the limelight for decades. I call B.S. myself. I think it’s all lies and fabrication,” Henry told TPM.

Moore, an outspoken social conservative critical of LGBT rights, accused Jones of taking up “transgender issues and transgender rights in the military.”
“The transgenders don’t have rights,” Moore said at press conference. “They’ve never been denominated as having rights by the US Supreme Court. He believes in transgender bathrooms and transgenders in the military. I disagree with him 100 percent.”
Jones has criticized the cancellation of rules allowing school children to use the bathroom of the gender with which they identify, citing the toll a similar law took on North Carolina's economy. He has also criticized the Trump administration’s decision to prevent transgender individuals from serving in the military. U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., said after Trump announced the policy that “any American who wants to serve out country” and can meet military standards “should have the opportunity to do so.”

State Sen. Scott Wagner (R-York) announced this morning that Montgomery County businessman Jeff Bartos is his choice for lieutenant governor in the 2018 Pennsylvania gubernatorial race.
Bartos, a real estate developer originally from Berks County, has suspended his U.S. Senate race to run with Wagner.
The two men must each win their respective Republican primary races next year to officially run as a team.
Pennsylvania voters select governor and lieutenant governor separately on the primary ballot, so gubernatorial teams don't typically emerge until after the primary election.
The decision by Bartos is a trickle of moves that begins to clear the way for U.S. Rep. Lou Barletta, (R-Luzerne) who plans to challenge Sen. Bob Casey for the Senate seat next year.
Both also expressed admiration for Donald Trump, though Wagner did try to distinguish himself from the president, whose poll numbers are hovering below 40 percent.
"Donald Trump grew up in the New York real estate world. I grew up on a farm in York, Pennsylvania," Wagner said. "I'm a blue collar guy; I came to Harrisburg because I was fed up.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The administrator for Medicaid has announced changes to the program that could make it harder to get.
The approach might sound familiar to Pennsylvanians who remember former Governor Tom Corbett’s approach to the program.
Administrator Seema Verma, in a speech to the National Association of Medicaid Directors on Tuesday, said she would encourage states to come up with rules such as drug test and work search requirements.
That was also the complaint when Corbett first proposed his “Healthy PA” plan, which he called an alternative to Medicaid expansion. Corbett had resisted the expansion, forfeiting millions of dollars in federal subsidies, before proposing that the state accept the federal money but put conditions on enrolling new recipients.
His plan was made moot when Tom Wolf was elected governor.
Wolf opted for a traditional expansion, which allowed 166,327 additional Pennsylvanians to get health care through Medicaid.
