The Iraqi gov't is pretty Shia and backed by Iran. Iran would love crushing any dreams of a Kurdistan given their own Kurds in the NW corner of the country.

I got a visa at the Instanbul airport 3 years ago. I wonder if that's still good.

Man, we got it all wrong. American workers, and manufacturing are coming back because of environmental disasters. The ports are busy, our wonderful first responders are so busy, construction is going to be way up, and so much more. If we clamped down on environmental issues and dealt with non-existent climate change none of this would be possible. And the good tech jobs that can be served by our citizens as we try to figure out how to live in this new world, simply amazing. What a visionary, unfortunately it is sort of a Revelation of John type vision.

the Kurds do not have many friends in the region; perhaps us and israel? we'll see, i guess.

Something else a tad tangentially strange is the number 18. 18 looks like politics' version of a biblical 40 because there were also 18 states suing DuVos and Dept of Ed.
