Yeah, that was definitely a miscalculation on his part.

The move to "decertify" Iran's compliance in the nuclear pact doesn't amount to ripping up the accord, as he promised to do as a candidate.
Instead, Trump will foist the agreement upon Congress, which now has 60 days to determine a path forward. Republicans and Democrats alike -- who also face upcoming battles over taxes, immigration and health care -- have shown few signs they're willing to take up another divisive issue.
If lawmakers decide to impose new punitive economic sanctions on Iran, the deal will likely fall apart. Instead, the Trump administration wants members of Congress to adopt new measures that would keep the deal intact, while spelling out parameters by which the US would impose new sanctions should Iran violate its agreements.

Cuomo, a Democrat who is positioning himself for a possible presidential bid in 2020, has raised $118,204 from Weinstein and his company since his 2006 campaign for attorney general. The governor’s campaign said late Oct. 6 it will donate $50,000 of those contributions — the amount contributed in 2016 and 2017 to his planned reelection bid next year — to an unspecified woman’s group.
As of July, Cuomo had $25.7 million in his campaign war chest.
Most other politicians — including Sens. Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand and state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman — are donating all the Weinstein money they’ve received. Cuomo, who has raised more from Weinstein than the others, says that money in previous campaigns has “been spent and is gone,” and therefore cannot be redirected.
“I think it’s a symbol, but I think you also have to keep focus on the issue as opposed to the symbol: The issue is protection of women and the respect for women taking action to stop discrimination and assault,” the governor told reporters after an event on Long Island. “That’s what this is really about: It’s bigger than Harvey Weinstein. I have three daughters — I want to make sure at the end of the day, this world is a safer, better world for my three daughters.”
“No one in their right mind should be keeping contributions from Harvey Weinstein,” New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, a frequent Cuomo foe, said Thursday, though he did not mention the governor by name. “My message to everyone who has current accounts with money from Harvey Weinstein is: Give that money back. Give it to charity. Get the hell away from it.”

Haven't won a "Democratic" election at the Senate level since George Mitchell was re-elected in 1988 (current Sen. Angus King is an Independent who caucuses Democrat). The state also twice elected their current #$!&@ Governor and Trump got nearly 45% of the vote.

I can't imagine this is going to go over well. Will people even know what happened?
