Right? I'm usually off Fridays, but had to revert to a "normal" schedule due to staffing issues. I don't want to work tomorrow :ce:

Seems like someone stuck an extra day this week. Feels like today should be Friday.

you gotta expand on this, you must have had one hell of a trip. what did they say when you went into the bank with your laundry

as I was trying to organize my cash at home I realized I was totally incapable of figuring out what my plan was. so I ditched that idea and settled for commuting to my parents' new suburban house while tripping balls. It took me 90 minutes to get out of my apartment and another 90 to travel the mile or so walk to the train station. I walked through the Italian market, up through Jefferson's campus, hung out in Washington Square then finally went to the train station. The city was mobbed with people because it was Monday afternoon and school had just let out. I was pretty paranoid the whole time because of the circumstances but I was also excited about conquering the challenge I'd unexpectedly set for myself. I had a lot of stewards to carry me through my journey via text conversations, music streaming, and in some cases kind strangers who were unaware that I was using their positive energy to travel from one downtown oasis to another.

A lot of my thought process was focused on the universal relationship between chaos and order--I had injected a chaotic force into my day and was spending all of it trying to maintain internal order. center city is loaded with people going through a stressful time, so I thought a lot about the day-to-day guideposts we have that let us know which way we're going. I had very important contributions from Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazelwood, Galaxie 500, Monster Magnet, The Flaming Lips, Neutral Milk Hotel, and the Beach Boys

all in all I preferred my experiences with shrooms but I also only had one really great trip on them. I hope to be more prepared the next time I trip. This time, I got to the train station at 5:15, surrounded by businessmen headed to the burbs, and when I got onto my express train every seat was already taken and a line of standing room only passengers had formed. I'd texted my sister to let her know what was going on and she picked me up from the train station. We formed a quick game plan (I.e. Dad will understand; he probably did a ton of acid when he was a teenager) and once I got to my parents' house my paranoia and stress floated away. I mellowed out a bunch in their backyard and played with my sister's dog and the rest of the evening was great. My mom seemed a little pissed but I ate a little bit of dinner despite the fact that I had no interest in food, and all was well.

good stuff barry, all of your thoughts were well put together. i'm glad you navigated the inner world outer world game and emerged from it feeling settled. A lot of the fun in tripping for me is in the following days after you've been zapped, where the momentum from that pendelum swing recalibrates you. It's a good feeling of ease

I was in Seattle yesterday and got a bunch of edibles before my flight to where I am now (OH) and I had a good experience, but I went from thinking everyone was a FED ready to bust me for thought crimes or something (there were seriously some gigantic looking tough guys that kept staring at me), to thinking everyone around me was either 1) a celebrity or 2) a manifestation of someone in my life in another similar body 3) just a really interesting person that I would learn a lot from. I swear this one woman arguing to get onto my booked flight really looked like Kim Kardashian, this other guy just like George Brett mixed with Ted Knight.

It took me 90 minutes to get out of my apartment and another 90 to travel the mile or so walk to the train station.

One of the times when I was on mushrooms, I was inside listening to music and then had the urge to go outside into nature. When I got to the front door, I stood there for what seemed like an eternity staring at it trying to determine which of the two locks I had to unlock first to open the door. I was really sweating it and trying to figure it out before realizing that it didn’t matter which lock I unlocked first to open the door as long as both of them were unlocked. Like a lightning bolt, this insight lead to the epiphany that there are many paths to take in life that will lead to the same place. And as long as your intentions are true and you focus on your goal, you can get there no matter which of those many paths you take.

After conquering the challenge of opening the door, I went outside. Sat out by the pond watching light hit water, and feeling that the energy of all living things is one. Then there were some people out and about, and I got really paranoid that they knew I was tripping so I scurried back to my apartment. Except then I stood outside my apartment paranoid not knowing if it was really my apartment or not, and I didn't want to walk into someone else's place and get beat up or arrested. So I stood there for probably 20 minutes knocking on my own door to make sure nobody was home before opening it and being relieved to find that it was, indeed, my place.

But I still really wanted to see nature, so I decided to put on my Planet Earth DVDs. If figuring out how to open the door was a challenge, trying to operate the DVD player was like trying to understand quantum mechanics. I messed with for a long time before realizing I didn’t even own Planet Earth DVDs and never did. At that point I realized that doing anything other than lying on my bed listening to music was going to be damn near impossible Herculean task, so I just gave in and rode the wave. Many nice insights came after that.

had this thought the other day with the world being so shitty. what if if "left behind" actually already did take place, and all of the good people ascended into a higher plane, where as us, the bad people, the people that are left, sunk to a lower level of hell, and it will continue to get worse and worse, and since we're in hell now, we will be here for eternity, not just until we die?
