What I was getting at, in long form - Without Priebus, Trump Is a Man Without a Party

Kelly, however, is not a political figure; he did not support (or oppose) Trump’s campaign, and is not known to hold strong political or ideological inclinations. Looking around Trump’s inner circle, there is communications director Anthony Scaramucci, a political novice who in the past donated to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton; chief strategist Steve Bannon, who used Breitbart to try and burn the Republican Party to the ground; National Economic Council director Gary Cohn, a lifelong Democrat; director of strategic communication Hope Hicks, who has zero history with GOP politics; and Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, a pair of self-professed Manhattan progressives. Of Trump’s closest advisers, only Mike Pence has any association with the Republican Party.

Venezuala's joke vote happened yesterday; boycotted by a large portion of the opposition and didn't actually include a 'no' option, Maduro is claiming 8 million people came out. outside firms and international poll watchers stated 3.6 million, so it's definitely the latter.

Trump’s die-hard supporters see themselves as members of what counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway has taken to calling “the Oct. 8th coalition.” These are the people who steadfastly stood by Trump last fall on the day after The Washington Post published a videotape of him boasting crudely about being able to get away with groping women because he’s a celebrity.

I'm not sure you and the author of that piece are on the same page about this. Seems the author is more fearful about the drumpf mob's general enthusiasm for Democrats/progressivism/god knows what all preversions than their lack of political acumen. drumpf is dangerous and uber-deplorable because he threatens America and what remains of its governing principles, not because zomg something might happen to the Republican party. We'll all be fortunate if laying waste to R party winds up being drumpf's signal achievement

but speaking of R politics, I laffed at this bit from an Axios repeal bill post-mortem:

"John Cornyn is in deep, deep need of rehabilitation," another former Senate Republican staffer told us. "Everyone in health care knows nothing he said was right. He was consistently projecting what leadership wanted to happen, not what was actually happening. He was always wrong."

Also, drumpf needs to fire Price. He promised the Boy Scouts! Oh well, at least one person's concerned about that possibility

the public disagrees:
When asked to weigh in on the debate, 58 percent of adults agreed with the statement, "Transgender people should be allowed to serve in the military." Twenty-seven percent said they should not while the rest answered "don't know.

minority rights shouldn't be at the consent of the majority, but it's good to see this poll.

It is hard not to fear for the future of our great country when you see shit like this. I will prefer to think that poll respondents were just trying to be funny rather than thinking that Kid Rock will actually win a seat.

I asked Harry Enten about it and he said it's a legit poll; another poll showed Stabenow up 8 so it's a competitive seat should Mr Rock actually run.

If you followed Harry Enten on Twitter and received push notifications you would have already known this. Come on gramps, get in the game.

Also, I believe the one that had Stabenow +8 had Kid Rock's real name listed (though Mr. Enten states that there is no way that would affect an actual election day vote).

Allahpundit‏ @allahpundit
We can resolve the “Senator Kid Rock or Senator Ritchie?” debate by instead agreeing to refer to him by his honorific, Pimp of the Nation
