It's the bare minimum they could do. I would much rather thank the thousands of protesters, especially the disabled ones, who risked life, limb, and arrest to protest this bill

I'm any case it's not dead and all 3 Rs who voted no will probably line up to vote for it in a few weeks after some cosmetic changes

he's already doing things
- closing down centers that help people sign up for health care
- using promotional money to rail against it
- threatening to cease paying cost-sharing reductions and fail to penalize those who don't have insurance, both of which makes the insurance industry nervous and increased premiums

natural gas industry is crying over the PA Senate's budget
The industry fired back after word broke of the narrow 26-24 vote to approve the revenue package. API Pennsylvania Executive Director Stephanie Catarino Wissman said the bill was a "political ploy targeting job creators and industry." Marcellus Shale Coalition President David Spigelmyer said the tax would "erode the commonwealth's competitive advantage

they've pretty much lost Collins and Murkowski for any future votes unless they completely put up a different bill in a different way.

McCain? I can see him flipping.

Here’s how: The Government Accountability Office, the leading auditor of the federal government, has formally agreed to a request by Democrats for an examination of whether the Trump administration has been violating the law by using government resources to promote the Republican replacement plan, I’ve learned.

If the GAO concludes that the administration’s conduct is violating the law, that could put increased pressure on it to refrain from these tactics, or on congressional Republicans to exercise their own oversight of them. Given that the repeal push could drag on for weeks or months longer, this could matter

Mechanics of what McCain did: Is that common? Whenever I tune in for votes I just hear "Senator so and so, aye, senator so and so, nay" and just assumed they voted electronically at an assigned area. Was the thumbs down in front of the clerk a bit of showmanship?

Wow. Did not expect that. From the small snippet I heard of his remarks sounds like he was right on the mark too; i.e. (my takeaway was) the current bill needs fixing, not repealing.

That is awesome. I hope like hell that there is some action on reversing what HHS has been doing to deny care to people in light of this, and that a glaring spotlight is turned onto the action for the American people. It will be deemed fake new even fully supported by facts and that will be accepted by the very people who have taken the bait. When the gambit is to not fund the subsidies to murder the plan, then what?
