Trump going to Long Island to talk about MS-13 gang targeting efforts and to push Congress on immigration.

Place your bets now as to when he makes it to Bedminster G.C. The good news is that the weather will suck keeping him off the course (get ready for cartoons and tweets people).

Trump is back to wanting 51 votes for everything, clearly not knowing that this would not have had an effect last night. I assume he also means to change the legal requirements for other things too. Really, the fact that his office is not a dictatorship is really starting to piss him off.

Jul 28, 2017 09:00:42 AM - ...Even though parts of healthcare could pass at 51, some really good things need 60. So many great future bills & budgets need 60 votes....
Jul 28, 2017 08:46:28 AM - If Republicans are going to pass great future legislation in the Senate, they must immediately go to a 51 vote majority, not senseless 60...

This winning is exhausting.

Dems going to need some real good messaging on this - this is a rebuplican failure not an Obamacare failure. Republicans own this

If there were no 60 vote requirement Congress wouldn't be trying to maneuver the rules of reconciliation (budget neutral, only has a fiscal impact, etc.) so he has a point.

Definitely, I just feel like we should acknowledge how his point can be right, even if the man is woefully wrong. McConnell is a coward, he fears the Democrats doing what he is doing to them. He could not NOT get Gorsuch through after the show with the Scalia seat, so he had to go nuclear then (even though he did not want too). If he went nuclear legislatively, he knows it is only a matter of time (like 2020) that the Dems control both houses and ram through big boogey men like single payer (in his mind at least).

O'Donnell pleaded with Joe Pesce to come on his show just to read the Mooch quotes aloud.

No response from Pesce as yet

As of last night, drumpf no longer has a role in forming policy that requires laws to implement them. It is painfully, embarrassingly obvious he knows nothing of how our nation's governance works, and he's incapable of learning because he's appallingly stupid. The only thing he can do is harm Rs chances of moving their agenda, and harm them he almost certainly does & will continue to do.

Time for Rs to run for the exits. If you're up for re-election in '18 in anything like a shaky seat, keep keep your bags packed

He was never interested in governing, and seems to have mistaken the presidency as a place to seat a ruler. I think it is insanely obvious now that all the talk of what presidents have done was actually that he thinks that presidents say something and it happens immediately. Remember he was shocked that the WH staff were not retained like servants with the property in the transition.

The U.S. Department of the Treasury today announced that it will begin to wind down the myRA program after a thorough review by Treasury that found it not to be cost effective. This review was undertaken as part of the Administration’s effort to assess existing programs and promote a more effective government.

Demand for and investment in the myRA program has been extremely low. American taxpayers have paid nearly $70 million to manage the program since 2014.

“The myRA program was created to help low to middle income earners start saving for retirement. Unfortunately, there has been very little demand for the program, and the cost to taxpayers cannot be justified by the assets in the program. Fortunately, ample private sector solutions exist, which resulted in less appeal for myRA. We will be phasing out the myRA program over the coming months. We will be communicating frequently with participants to help facilitate a smooth transition to other investment opportunities,” said Jovita Carranza, U.S. Treasurer.

Retirement savers have options in the private sector that offer no account maintenance fees, no minimum balance, and safe investment opportunities.

Participants in the myRA program are being notified of the upcoming changes, including information on moving their myRA savings to another Roth IRA. Participants are encouraged to visit http://www.myRA.gov for additional information or to call myRA customer support with any questions.

The New Yorker revealed this morning that there are parts to Mooch's call that he requested to be off the record- and they honored it

Meaning he probably said even worse things
