During the campaign, Trump said he hired "top, top people" and would fill his administration "with only the best and most serious people."

a fun way to think about the REPUBLICAN health care bill:
- Destabilizes private insurance
- Preserves government insurance

Friends -
Just about 90 minutes ago, we got our first look at the health care bill we’re going to vote on in the United States Senate.
Republicans call it the “Health Care Freedom Act,” and there is definitely freedom in the bill. The freedom to go bankrupt. The freedom to get sick and not be able to afford a doctor. Freedom from health care from 16 million people who will lose insurance when it becomes law.
Now, there are a lot of Republican Senators who are voting for this bill although even though they say it’s terrible. They say their problems can be fixed in something called a “Conference Committee” with the House of Representatives.
But let’s be honest about what is going to happen. Sure, maybe there will be a conference committee. But it won’t resolve any problems. They’ll argue for a couple of weeks, there will be no consensus, and the House will vote to pass this Senate bill.
And then President Trump will sign it.
Time is running out. We only have a few hours left. Forward this email to your friends. Post on social media. Call Republican Senators. And sign my petition.
Tell the Senate: start over, debate any health care changes through the committee process. And tonight, vote NO on this so-called “Health Care Freedom Act” that will take away care from millions of Americans.
This bill is a humanitarian disaster waiting to be unleashed on the American people. Thank you for making your voice heard.
Every best wish,
Chris Murphy
U.S. Senator, Connecticut
