Yes, I know calling Orrin Hatch was a futile effort in the first place. But, I did anyway. I prepared a thoughtful statement but ended up saying, "I urge you to vote NO on this...ahhhh fuck it. Retire. Fuck you." I'm sure it will sway him.

If McCain votes for this at this point he was always going to and he's wasting everyone's time so he can get an extra bridge built or something (I guess they don't need bridges in Arizona)

Senator McCain's speech is much more impact now. It came off as hypocritical in the moment since he had the power to force regular order, but with his no vote tonight he lives up to his own words.

I bet some Senators (like Heller) feel left out to dry... if they knew the bill was dead they may have CYA.
