The president is invited to speak at every jamboree. I saw Bush speak at the one I went to. Well he sent a video bc it rained the night he was supposed to come.

Obama, too. Trump simply lied about that.

i'm more disappointed it was explicitly political; it should've been stressed that it was to be non-political. Getting them to boo a former president and a former candidate is just pathetic.

The back story is that Randall Stephenson was the volunteer that actually extended the invitation, as in that was a function he performed on behalf of BSA. IT was not his idea, it was a job he took on. WRT the relationship to the ATT/TW merger, that likely had a very minor role going in, but the optics coming out are horrible. Michael Surbaugh should have been in the spotlight for this (chief of scouting) or he could have thrown it locally to NCAC (DMV are council) to arrange delivery of his written invitation. My point is that it Stephenson role being over sold, but because of his business interests he is paying the price.

right after he gets to that June 2016 tweet and comments where he promised that “<Thank you to >the LGBT community! I will fight for you while Hillary brings in more people that will threaten your freedoms and beliefs,”

Since it is in a DoJ filing, maybe that is how he fires Sessions, right after whatever horror is enacted. = Cake+Eat It Too

any divisive response would make it a political problem, and violate the non-political stance. it is a no win situation. I broke that down a bit in the last thread.

when we were winners:
In one instance, Spencer agreed to award a contract worth $227,000 to an engineering firm after a representative for the company told him he would receive a $1,500 contribution and four tickets to a Philadelphia Phillies game. In another, prosecutors said Spencer bribed the president of Reading's city council to repeal an anti-corruption statute. The council president was previously sentenced to two years in federal prison for taking the bribe.

I will see you and raise you the anti-Muslim stuff from the campaign with this non-thinking response from the internet (not me):

"he said he will fight for you and keep you safe. keeping trannys out of harms way will keep them safe (k)eeping terrotists (SIC) out will keep them from throwing you (T) off the rooftops , so how has he not done what he said he would do."

Obama gave a speech by video. Trump asked if Obama had ever attended. Obama hadn't so technically, Trump didn't lie about that. Bringing it up at all, though, is classless, shitty and useless.

maybe this was the case with O, but bush's video was because they night was postponed until later in the week because of rain. so for secret service to come out on a different night and secure the area and the presidents schedule just did not allow it.

think it is a pretty silly exercise to bash the BSOA president over this. trump is a fucking nitwit, yet he is the president. what would you have suggested they do?

It seems to me the trump administration is moving from king Lear level dysfunction to king George iii.

Maybe trump is syphilitic.

In a Morning Consult/POLITICO pollreleased on July 26, 47 percent of respondents who identified themselves as Republicans said they believed that Donald Trump won the 2016 election's popular vote. That is compared to 25 percent of independents, and 12 percent of Democrats.
