Later in the day Ms Murkowski and Dan Sullivan, the other Republican senator for Alaska, allegedly received calls from the Department of the Interior warning them that the state’s future was now under consideration.


Does this mean we're giving Alaska back to Russia?

Senate Parliamentarian rules that the Waiver to Essential Health Benefits violates the Byrd Rule, needs 60 votes. Also, there are talks that if CBO doesn't have a score of Skinny Repeal tomorrow than 60 votes will be needed for that too.
Quick Google shows that GoGo is wrong with regards to the Kiwi and the Banana.

Does this mean we're giving Alaska back to Russia?

Murkowski is the chair of the Senate Committee on Energy & Natural Resources (where Interior falls) and chairs the subcommittee on appropriations that deals with Interior. She's not up for re-election until 2022. She won re-election in 2010 as a write-in after losing the GOP primary.

This tweet seems to imply that Murkowski has delayed some hearings on confirmation of Zinke subordinates today, though isn't clear if the reason is the pressure from Zinke.

They aren't even good at picking messengers to deliver threats. Would think that would be a strength.

It's been awhile since my policy sci days, but don't they need to vote to overturn the veto. Trump might think he can pressure/persuade enough people to back down. Then again, Occam's razor/he's an idiot.
