There is no point to these hearings. Witness does not answer questions and does not cite executive privilege. They save face but saying "I'm committing to transparency by testifying in public when I could have testified in closed door meeting."

Reality is the same answers would have been provided in a closed door session.

FWIW, I am actually surprised by the Democrats choice. It was preordained, but that momentum seemed to have fallen away. Personally I refuse to vote in primaries because I self describe as an independent, so I can't cross into anyone's territory to pick their candidate.
