sheesh, you're missing the point.

the point is, missiles were fired at something. drumpf's taken a page out of Yong-Un's playbook

I'm thinking this is correct. Trump fired missiles, simply to fire missiles. They were not intended to do any real damage, the whole thing was for show.

the networks were orgasming last night

the feedback he'll get from foxy and friends will be effusive

if i actually thought this would be a one-time limited strike, ok, i can live with it i guess. but when you lie over and over how are you supposed to have any confidence in this man or administration? it matters who is the one making the decisions and how they thought through the process.
the weird thing is framing this as: 1. one-off 2. show of force/deterrent

by definition those two ideas can't simultaneously exist

Apparently Fox has been running with base red meat that the attack almost completely destroyed the base. I guess it is all in how you define total destruction. Damage, yes, but destruction should at minimum get to the point of not being able to taxi planes to go kill more civilians who's families are guilty of living in Syria for a few thousand years.

Trump showed where his red-line stopped before 100 days in office!

And if we did in fact tell the Russians, wouldn't that give them time to move anything they cared about?

Anyway, this will likely bump up the approval ratings, which probably is the real point.

I love the the gushing of Trump being decisive. I completely believe that his backing off of any US pressure on Assad, what a week ago, opened the door for Assad to escalate his civil war to using chemical weapons. Why not, since the US was refocusing elsewhere. Here is an example of the general reactions in comment:

After 8 years we could not figure out where Obama's red-line stopped because it moved faster then a liberal looter at a CVS.

Of course it is a liberal view to riot and burn Baltimore, which is just embarrassing, but a point of fact is that Assad stayed well behind the 'red line' when Obama was in office, but gleefully danced across it with Trump in the power chair. So this is on his watch.

Now everyone's favorite part of military action, misinformation!

Russia: 23 of 59 missiles hit target
US: 58 of 59 missiles hit target

And now Russia is retaliating by suspending pact preventing mid-air incidents over Syria and will also be bolstering Syria's anti-air capabilities. Like many have echoed if this was a single strike retaliation then it might be fine, but I have no faith that this administration will not escalate.

CIVIL WAR

Steve Bannon Calls Jared Kushner a ‘Cuck’ and ‘Globalist’ Behind His Back

Donald Trump’s two closest aides are fighting “nonstop” and often “face-to-face,” officials say — and it’s even uglier in private.

Donald Trump’s chief strategist Stephen Bannon has called the president’s senior advisor and son-in-law Jared Kushner a “cuck” and a “globalist” during a time of high tension between the two top aides, several Trump administration officials told The Daily Beast.

The fighting between Kushner and Bannon has been “nonstop” in recent weeks, according to sources who spoke on condition of anonymity. It’s been an “open secret” that Bannon and Kushner often clash “face-to-face,” according to senior officials.
One official said Bannon has lately complained about Kushner trying to “shiv him and push him out the door” and likened him to a fifth column in the White House.

“[Steve] recently vented to us about Jared being a ‘globalist’ and a ‘cuck’…He actually said ‘cuck,’ as in “cuckservative,’” the administration official told The Daily Beast.

"Here's the reason ther'es no middle ground," Bannon growled at Kushner. "You're a Democrat."

Shit sounds like a bad fan fic.

Speaking of Kushner and Russia, Maggie Haberman just tweeted that Kushner omitted meeting w/ Russians on his security clearance forms.

Also, there's an article in the NYT stating that the CIA told lawmakers last summer that it had information indicating that Russia was working to help elect Trump, so again, all the sanctimonious BS about the Clinton emails rings even more hollow.

Former senior US intelligence official states that this is almost exactly the same strike planned by Obama in 2013.
