there's an entire strain of thinking online where the White Helmets are the true villains and it's all a big hoax

Plus he just tweeted more info he got from Fox:

Donald J. Trump‏Verified account
@realDonaldTrump
@FoxNews from multiple sources: "There was electronic surveillance of Trump, and people close to Trump. This is unprecedented." @FBI
5:51 AM - 3 Apr 2017

Now here is a serious question about Twitter as I do not really use it. His feed says that was posted 12 minutes ago (as of now) but it is dated 5:51am. How does that work?

Given recent anti-Putin demonstrations in Russia, the bombing in St. Peterburg seems awfully convenient.

Yeah, I don't see how with the information out there anyone would justify voting for him as unqualified.

That's coming from someone who sees originalism as equivalent to devoting your intellectual capabilities to discerning how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. And who sees his strange fascination with arguments against euthanasia while avoiding questions of capital punishment and war as either odd or morally exculpatory. And his support of two of the most bizarre and historically and legally unsupported decisions in history, Hobby Lobby and Citizens United, as dumbfounding from someone of his apparent legal and intellectual qualities.

But in terms of his being qualified for the Supreme Court, based on testimony so far, he really should be be voted in virtually unanimously.

i am really not trying to pick on swish here, but this post perfectly encapsulates how many liberals think and process different controversial issues. they're more worried about "fairness" and "objectivity" and how a particular decision made now could have (negative) ramifications down the line by setting poor precedents. Meanwhile republicans: Mitch McConnell Admits the ‘Rule’ That Blocked Merrick Garland Is Not Actually a Rule

it's like they're playing 2 different games. republicans are repugnant but they a) know that their job is to win elections (by whatever means necessary) and 2) assert their power when they're in power and obstruct when they're not

which is why this is the right play, imo:

while there's no end to the possible involutions, you had it more right when you suggested the two "sides" are playing different "games": one "side" actually does view the goings-on as a game of sides, the other, in the spirit of disreputable political ancestors like George Washington, doesn't.

td - that link explains it perfectly: the one side is playing calvinball with its ever-shifting rules and allegiances, and part of the other is still playing tag with strict rules about what is and is not lava and base.

i would hope Democrats are constructing their version of red map to let the people have a voice in who they choose for they House instead of the House choosing the people, but i somehow doubt it.

this is still planned:
Starting the day after Easter, the state is scheduled to execute eight men in 11 days, and people in Gould and across Arkansas are wondering how so many executions will affect prison staffers and color perceptions of this Bible Belt state. Two men will die each day on April 17, 20, 24 and 27.

No state has executed this many people in such a short span since the Supreme Court reinstated capital punishment in 1976. The closest was Texas, which executed eight men in both May and June of 1997, according to the nonprofit Death Penalty Information Center, which opposes capital punishment.

why? because the drug cocktail is running out. May as well use it!

Did Hillary Clinton ever apologize for receiving the answers to the debate? Just asking!”

he thinks it was a test, like she wouldn't have possibly known Flint was going to be asked about in a democratic primary debate and thus she got 'the answers' ahead of time. '

whatever you think of Brazile sending the campaign a heads up that probably was useless (it was stupid to do so) he seems to think that it was a multiple choice question where she filled in the A bubble and was thus awarded the primary because of this answer.

edit: turns out it was on the death penalty, probably something she'd never previously thought about. source

I completely missed that he said "answers" instead of "questions." That is a revealing mixup.

what is the goal of delaying the Gorsuch nomination, triggering the rules change, and so on?

is it just a bad news cycle for Republicans?

liberal voters don't vote on Supreme Court choices; conservatives do. If this finally clarifies for some the importance of their vote, it's a successful filibuster.

also, delaying seems like a good tactic that worked well for Republicans. why Democrats have to suddenly play by the old rules instead of the new playbook is beyond me.

The nuclear option seems an inevitability. I guess Senate Dems are hoping that Trump is such a disaster that they can swing the Senate in 2018 (very doubtful, based on which seats are up).

attracting only the best candidates:
The Trump White House’s application added a field that didn’t exist when President Barack Obama adopted the program: social media details.

Josh Hall, an incoming freshman at Harrisburg Area Community College, hoped the White House would notice that his tweets condemning the press mimic the president’s own style. “I started my Twitter as a political account six months ago. I have like 12,000 subscribers,” he said.

“I’d maybe be able to shed a lot of light on the bias that happens within the media,” Hall added. “I try and do that a lot of the time with my Twitter.”

One of Hall’s recent tweets: “The fact of the matter is #Manafort's Russian ties from YEARS AGO had no influence on the campaign or the election. This is FAKE NEWS!”

A fan of alt-right media darling Milo Yiannopoulos, Hall said he likes Trump because “he sounds like your average American.”

“He can be offensive at times,” Hall said. “There are things he says that I think go too far. But your average Americans do say kind of offensive things.”

PA pride!

I think we would all acknowledge that there is bias in all media so, I wonder if his focus would be on shedding light on ALL bias in media or just that which emanates from the left? I'm guessing he is only interested in calling out the Rachel Maddow's of the world while allowing the Sean Hannity's of the world to skate along with their propaganda mission.
