Maybe (I hope) there will eventually be enough rigorous studies to support this and other conclusions. It helps some people. But it's over-prescribed, and its benefits, both on its own and compared to alternative treatments, have been exaggerated by a lot of people with a very different agenda from making it available to the select number of people that it would benefit medically. Any honest review of the literature can not come to any other conclusion. Even adherents greet the proliferation of medical marijuana with a sidelong wink.

I actually agree with the agenda. But I'm not big on hypocrisy or selective use of scientific review.

Rally crowd still getting off on locking Hillary up. I have never experienced a politician as viscerally hated as she is.

Most successful thing the Republicans have done in the past twenty years was magnifying Hillary's faults while also inventing others.

Just a hunch, but I'm imagining that whenever there are court proceedings on drumpf's travelban 2.0, the parties opposed to it will simply run the videotape of his ranting in Tennessee

I'm happy to hear it, and glad she has access. All I'm saying is I think it should be treated like other medications, both in having restrictions lifted and in taking steps to insure it's prescribed to those who need it. (Yes, I realize other medications are over or incorrectly prescribed).

The question of recreational use should be split off from this. I don't have any problem with people who want to toke up in their bedrooms or a public park for that matter. Just don't shroud in a feigned, or worse internalized, self-righteousness.

I think I probably have more faith than you do in it's healing & pain killing capabilities, but I agree there's some silly stuff out there. There's a whole show on VICE that's dedicated to some really spurious weed "science."

I have a lot of faith in its pain-killing ability and it's ability to reduce symptoms of diseases such as epilepsy , MS and Parkinson's. As you say, there's also a lot of pseudo-science lurking out there touting it as a "cure" for things like these and a host of other diseases. That's what I meant by over-hyped, though I'm guessing I reacted too strongly to the denial of this. Certainly not implying it's not of medical use.

I'm enjoying the conversation on medicinal ganja, both for itself and because one strand of the exchange supports one of my many pet theories: that we humans are as prone to fetishizing things - just about any thing - as we are to overweighting possible losses. Almost like it has played a role in the species' advancement

Jeff Flake channels my feelings on the constitutionality (yes) and wisdom (not so much) of the latest travel EO.

I think it's pretty clear MJ also helps with nausea.

Anecdotal, but it certainly helped me the one time I tried it with nausea. It was fast and striking.
