Seems like there are a lot of those so-called judges around.

Maybe I'm being naive, but I think the courts are much less vulnerable to rubber-stamping his insane policies than congress. The congressmen just cut-and-paste from lobbyist emails, but judges at the federal level write their own opinions, don't they?

Which means they will study the case and apply the law as they read it, and something like this travel ban, they simply can't find the words to justify it. They flat out told him, you have no evidence of an imminent threat. He can't just yell Atlanta! Bowling Green! because they know better (unlike congress).

The fact that he so vocally trashes the judiciary only makes it worse for him. I think even the SC will uphold the lower rulings.

Your AG ladies (right...) and gents,

While Americans are “deeply committed to freedom of religion,” Sessions told Bannon, “we are in an age that’s very dangerous. And we are seeing more and more persons enter, and a lot of them have done terrorist acts.”

“It’s time for us to think this through,” said Sessions, a former U.S. Senator who now will lead the Justice Department as it defends the White House’s immigration, refugee and travel ban in federal court. “And the classical internal American religious principles I don’t think apply — providing constitutional protections to persons (who are) not citizens who want to come here.”

That is from USAToday FFS. An article about what Team Trump thinks of Muslims in the principles own words.

It wouldn't shock me if Kelly Anne resigns to provide a distraction from the immigration stuff.

She's not resigning. It would suggest that she did something wrong which would go against the fundamental strategy of this administration - "we do nothing wrong - this is all political".

was listening to the network news on radio. Had a clip of sessions saying something like "as someone who has been involved in upholding the laws for 30 years, i'm in fear of the huge increase in crime occurring in the U.S.". real-time fact check reveals that except for slight blips in 1996 and 2015, violent crime rate has been steadily decreasing since 1991. In fact, the 2015 was half of the 1991 rate.

The thing with stats like this is they can all be cooked. When I think of crime stats, I immediately think of those scenes from The Wire. gaming the stats.
