It may not need to happen with Sessions as AG. How many blacks will even be allowed to vote? He's going to go full on voter fraud.

yes, I think there will be a lot more voter suppression and voter intimidation because that's modern GOP policy 101 stuff.

Tom Cotton introduced an immigration bill to cut legal immigration in half and eliminate the diversity lottery and sponsorship of one's parents, children or spouses. Complete bullshit and the reasons are obvious.

he's literally providing less ways for people to immigrate the legal way.

Did anyone really believe the BS that it's not about immigration but illegal immigration?

It's especially funny because Arkansas of course is a state where there are a bunch of places with declining population--we need more people moving here, not fewer.

Well there's still a 15th amendment, and just maybe the attention the Sessions nomination received motivates black folks to show up to the polls in larger numbers. At least this is something many of my students think could happen.

I really do see among my students a recognition that politics may be more relevant to their lives than they thought 6 months ago.

For sure, there are some encouraging signs in between the moments of terror and dread.

Need a quirky television show about a retired, wealthy astronaut, an intellectual radio host, a contract-trapped doctor, and the homey bar and restaurant where they all gather. Call it Southern Exposure. That should bring in the people.

the share of non-native primary care doctors treating people outside urban areas - hell, even within urban areas, in some cities - would surprise many people, but especially R congresspersons

I know there are several in my town. Of course, Lil' Vulture was born in New Brunswick, NJ, and many of the nurses there were also foreign born.

Just from reading snippets of the decision, they did their job and picked apart the EO to the extent Bannon can't just go back and tweak the wording to get it reinstated. Not sure if there's some other end-around they may try to pull like attaching it into some otherwise innocuous house bill

There's a long-form discussion happening on NPR about this. Effectively it said when you have no one at the White House who knows what they're doing, you can't expect a lot of these things to hold up. Also apparently the president caps lock on his phone is stuck when he's tweeting. The Donald we know and love in effect, see you in court. Freaking juvenile.
