Wow. 1981. I need to check the library to see if they have a copy.

Paperwhite with special offers and it's not even a question really. It is completely worth it over the kindle without a backlight. The voyage is pretty great but who needs a $200 e-reader?

Just finished 11/22/63. I rated it a 3/5 on Goodreads, but I can not put into words what was wrong with it. It was written pretty well and was engaging, but there was something off or missing. Maybe it will come to mind after some sleep.
Quick Google shows that GoGo is wrong with regards to the Kiwi and the Banana.

Seveneves was a pretty good recent sci-if read. Actually pretty though provoking.

Didn't love Seveneves, though it had its moments. Probably my least favorite Neal Stephenson book.

That's what I have and use personally. If you do look to move on from it, you can probably get more than $50 for it on eBay? I believe those 3G ones have some demand still.

For the reasons mentioned by others, a backlight would be sweet. Right now I need some good light conditions to read this version Kindle. Seems the 3G keyboards sell for about 50 on ebay anyway. I'm gonna keep my eye out for a paperwhite.

I really like the Baroque Cycle, but I have a pretty serious interest in the 17th c. and the topics the book covered.

Reading NFL Confidential, the book that was written by the anonymous player that's probably David Molk. It's pretty interesting, a quick read. Reading it, you can totally get that it's the Eagles. Jeb is Jason Peters without a doubt and there's a lot of other things that line up. There aren't any bombshells or anything, but its been interesting enough.

The Pale King. You can see the flourishes of his greatness, but it is what it is. You can see where it could have turned out to be something great. Makes you wonder if it's because of the state he was in or if it contributed.

Hated the ending. But overall I enjoyed it. I love JFK and time travel so it was kind of a can't-miss. That being said, I'm watching the mini series now on Hulu and think it's meh.

Huh. King usually struggles with endings and I think he actually really stuck this one.

I think the "bad ending" criticism has really gotten out of hand. it's like 80% because of It

OK maybe by 'usually' I meant if there's a critique it's usually the ending.

The It ending works in the context of the Dark Tower though.
