Haven't seen pictures but just reading the names makes me tear up. I'm going to look at pictures though when I see them. Personally I think it's important to be deeply impacted by this and mourn.

Other than being awful reporting, the no connection to the school is mind boggling. Truly disturbing.

So this was 2 first grade classes not kindergarten as reported yesterday.
The whole mother was a teacher found dead at the school to, no, she has no connection and was found elsewhere is absurd. There is no journalism anymore, just twitter rumors I guess.

But where did all this info come from? The name thing was the police. Other than that I just don't know. Are they asking random people around the scene?

Also they said last night kid victims were 5-10. They were 6/7. 5-10 probably is the range of the whole school.

Well, no shit. They couldn't give ages until actual ids were complete. Not sure what your point is...

They made it sound like victims were known to be 5-10 which would suggest he moved through the school classrooms more than it sounds like he did. That's my point, the media is horrible.

I hear you, but would you have preferred "There was a shooter in the school. There are casualties. Check back on Sunday for details"?

The authorities don't release much concrete info (understandably), so the media uses best-available info to serve public interest in these kinds of cases. Add in the speed of social media and it's always gonna be a mess

At least they didn't jump right into psychoanalyzing motive this time

Yes, the media is horrible, but 6 & 7 falls in that range 5-10. To be more specific when so much is unknown is A: impossible, and B: irresponsible.

This is the least "irresponsible" piece of reporting that happened yesterday.

Feel like the 5 to 10 thing was just making sure people knew what ages elementary school kids are.

Victoria Soto deserves recognition. Not really how to qualify it, but it shows what kind of person she was. She was probably going to die anyway, but she went after the thing.

3 to 7 rounds in each child. ffs.

I hope that I would react the same way but to actually sacrifice your life trying to save others is always amazing to me.
