will be interesting how this one goes - rogue one was lightyears (hah) better than force awakens both in story, characters, and overall acting.

my expectations for this franchise were significantly elevated after seeing that.
On a scale of 1 to Chris Brown, how pissed is he?

Am I the only one who started getting a strong KoTOR 2/Kreia vibe off the trailer?

Kreia was a character from the classic RPG Knights of the Old Republic 2 set waaaaaay before any of the movies. She was a 'Gray Jedi' that thought both the Jedi order and the Sith were real turdbrains.

Me too. Some really unique visuals. Combine that with the sequences of Rey training, and I'm on board fully. I wouldn't even need Poe or Finn to be happy.

Normal? No.

Common? Yes.

It happened most famously with Superman II and Richard Donner. But it's also happened on films that ended up doing pretty well, such as Wizard of Oz, Gone with the Wind, and Spartacus.

Who knows how this will turn out now. Ron Howard certainly wouldn't be my first choice to do a Star Wars film, but he's an excellent director.

I think The Wizard of Oz wound up having four different directors.
