what'd he say?

He was asked whose fault it was and Charlie said that's normally the catcher's job, or the pitcher....

that's a lazy BS answer. Obviously they hadn't thought about that situation or discussed it because he would have had a singular answer. regardless, either way it's almost a physical impossibility, unless they work on a play with the pitcher breaking to third immediately upon knowing the runner is going. Which obviously has never before been seen in the history of baseball.

If that swings back to the Phils, and there's no reason it can't, we could get right back in this thing. I like us to win tomorrow and I like us in game 7. Game 6 will be the hard one because we don't matchup well against Pettitte, but there's no reason we can't win 3 straight.

If they can get to game six, I'd feel good against Pettitte on three days rest.

We're obviously in a dire situation, but I take some solace in the fact that we'd be facing their pitchers on short rest. They really need to be patient and work them and tire them out. It wouldn't surprise me to see us get to game 7.

Or not, sadly.

Still, a second consecutive NL pennant is a good thing.

I get annoyed pretty easily, but those feelings pass once I realize what a little bitch I'm being by whining. This is so much different. I am so goddamn angry right now I want to find a school bus and blast every son-of-a-bitching window out with a sledgehammer, then ghost-ride it through a brick wall.

Barkann says this is one of the most devastating losses in Philadelphia sports history. A game they never led...

I almost feel worse about letting the Yankoffs win the series than the Phils not winning.

Yeah, realistically there was little chance either one of them would have been able to cover the bag. It's also a dumb thing to be pissed off about because Damon still scores from second.

Honestly we got a lot of shit luck tonight. Two critical bloop hits and a grounder that Jimmy normally gets playing his regular spot.

I am more heartbroken and sad than anything. It is hard to be angry at this team. They are great. No matter what happens the rest of the series we are lucky to have such a lovable bunch of guys to root for. We could be cheering for players like A-Rod, Swisher, Posada, and Damon. Guys that just don't seem like enjoyable people. Victorino, Howard, Utley, Rollins, Ruiz, Lee, Werth, and the rest of them are awesome. Every single one of them. Be proud of your team.

Should Lidge have been in there? I don't know. He got two outs. Almost had a third and weird crap starting happening.

We still have at least one more game with one of the best pitchers in the league throwing for us. This thing is not over. It is going to be hard but it is not over.

it does matter because the runner on 3rd took away Lidge's slider, which was on tonight. You can't throw straight fastballs to A-rod and not expect him to square one up.

Yeah, Bradley's pretty much a fly-ball pitcher, right?
