not on the couch then, huh

a) I work from the bedroom 80% of the time. It has a desk. Sometimes Numb3rs or NCIS is on though, and I work from the couch. Or if HBO has a good movie.

b) I work.

I concede Mejia is a good prospect, but right now hes basically just a thrower. His secondary pitches are bad, and his command is average at best.

but the guy for me is brad holt. when he was drafted (out of a decent but not major program, and he was really abused) most people said he'd be a reliever. hes got a decent fastball, but like big pelf, no secondary pitches, and his fastball doesnt have near the movement. but he had a nice debut, and all the mets fans were falling all over themselves declaring him untradeable, and an elite prospect who could be a #2 in the big leagues. this year he got swatted around in AA, i mean, it was ugly, and again the "reliever" tag is being thrown around. but they still consider him an elite guy, and they add his name to all of their ridiculous trade proposals.

hes like our version of mike stutes. interesting prospect. but nowhere near untouchable for any good MLB player.

Phils are a LLC. One of the owners can't just throw in additional monies.

The Mets must not get Halladay. They must not.

You know they'd somehow fuck it up. Plus we wouldn't have to deal with him in October.

Halladay has to approve any trade, right?

I seem to recall reports at the trade deadline of him not wanting to be a Mets...
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

If Halladay becomes a Met, would you bet on career ending injury? or career ending implosion?

Or Halladay gives up a ton of runs to the Phils, then tears his Mets jersey off to reveal a Phils jersey. On his way to out dugout, he nails Jerry Manuel in the face with a steel chair.

....another reason for the Phillies to trade for him. Even if you consider Hamels for Halladay a push it still keeps Halladay from going somewhere else. Plus, IMO Halladay is more a need than a want. When you get into a short series against the Yankees (or another AL offense) Joe Blanton isn't going to cut it and I'm not ready to gamble the prime years of the offense on Cole's mental state.

I really think that the only way for the Phillies to get Halladay that makes sense is to trade Hamels. It saves your farm system and your short term payroll. Talking about trading prospects for Halladay and being able to maintain a reasonable payroll through 2011, especially with the team's other needs, is kinda unrealistic (assuming we were to re-up Halladay and Lee and keep Cole.

Halladay to the Mets really doesn't scare me as much as Johan did at the time. Go ahead and trade your top trade chips to get him, they are still playing Murphy at 1B next year, with Francouer in right, 50 games of a backup IF plus Castillo (aka 2011 Chone Figgins) at 2B and no #3-5 starters

I'd much rather he go to NYM than LAD

The way Amaro robbed Cleveland blind, it would make getting Halladay that much harder, no?

Yeah, the NLCS might go six games instead of five next year.
