I think Happ's better than Kendrick and the comparison is flawed and lazy, but he did pitch ahead of his peripherals this year.

I feel good about myself that I've taken MattS's haughty, dickish Cole evangelizing to a wider, dumber audience.

I play a baseball game called baseballboss (card-trading online game) and in celebration of the imminent 'Halladay to Phils imminent' rumours I've gone on a Halladay sprending spree. Of course if it doesn't happen, I'd have 25 Halladay 'cards' but he's so damn good on this game, that I'd be happy anyway :P.

Rundown from a Canadian perspective

Upside: they spell it favourites. Downside: we're not one of the four.

Any prediction that has the Mets as a favourite isn't worth the time to read.

I honestly do not know the answer to this but can the Mutts match us prospect-wise in a deal for Halladay?

I think we'd be kidding ourselves to say the Mets can't possibly get him. They have an average farm system IMO, not completely horrid. They could put a deal together with Mejia and/or Fernando Martinez and some others that would make TOR think hard IMO.

Honestly, I'm surprised we're even having this conversation. I'd put our chances at getting Halladay at less than 1 in 20. We don't have a huge need, so I don't think we'd put together as good an offer as Boston or LA. (I don't see the Mets being able to put together a real offer either, though.)

The phrase really makes no sense.

the prospect of both aces could be tantalizing for a team with an offensive core that could be difficult to keep together in the coming years.

If we need help with offense, how does having two aces help? What it means to me is that the Phillies may not want to part with offensive prospects who may be key parts of the team down the road.

this thread should be called Halladay IX: Predator vs. Alien
I know what you're asking yourself and the answer is yes. I have a nick name for my penis. Its called the Octagon, but I also nick named my testes - my left one is James Westfall and my right one is Doctor Kenneth Noisewater.

No we don't have a need, but it's a want. I mean wouldn't winning 105 games be fun?

One of the funniest things ever on The Good Phight was when one of the guys from Amazin Avenue came over and posted his "analysis" of Mejia and Drabek, and tried to browbeat us into admitting that Mejia was a better prospect.
