no link. I took it off another board. I didn't see it or hear it

I'm crushed. All this time I've been thinking you had inside sources. An idol. Exposed.

Absolutely. It's all just conjecture and opinions anyway.

1. The Blue Jays are listening to whichever teams call, but feel the best matches are with the Phillies and Red Sox. All things being equal, Toronto would prefer to ship Halladay out of the division, but if the Red Sox come up with the right combination of players the Jays would do a deal with Boston. Toronto is prioritizing a pitcher with a high ceiling as key to the deal so Clay Buchholz almost certainly would have to be a component.
2. The Jays also believe that the Yankees have the pieces to make a deal, but the Yanks have not been aggressive at all in an attempt to consummate a trade. That is probably because the Jays would have to have Phil Hughes, and that appears a deal breaker for the Yanks. But Toronto also is infatuated with Double-A catcher Jesus Montero, and like outfielder Austin Jackson, catcher Austin Romine and lefty starter Jeremy Bleich. The Yanks are one of about a dozen teams that have inquired on Scott Downs.

3. Toronto GM J.P. Ricciardi is emphasizing a need for at least one player to move directly onto the major league roster, which is why he is so insistent that Philadelphia include J.A. Happ. Philadelphia would include Happ, but not Double-A starter Kyle Drabek, who also -- for the moment -- is a must-have for the Jays to move Halladay.

4. There are other teams that have stayed in touch with the Jays but Texas is not sure it can make a deal work financially, and the Angels, Dodgers and Cubs might not have enough minor league pieces to put together a deal without touching the major league roster -- and all three are against doing that. The Rays continue to call to express interest, though their ability to make the finances work also is in question. As they always do, the Marlins have operated under the radar and made a few calls on Halladay, though there is almost no way for them financially to make a deal.

5. The Brewers have called a lot on Halladay, but do not have a minor league pitcher that intrigues the Jays because their best pitching prospect, Jeremy Jeffress, is currently serving a second suspension for a "drug of abuse," which means he is one strike away from being kicked out of the game for good.

6. The Jays wanted to conclude a deal before Halladay started on Wednesday, but that is not a hard deadline. They will go right to the 4 p.m. deadline on Friday if need be.

7. If Halladay is traded, the Jays will then do a total breakdown and try to deal Down, Scott Rolen and Marco Scutaro, as well.

That Finger thing is funny, because I went with a couple friends who all said the same thing, that he didn't look like the type of top prospect that would hold up a deal.

But yeah, good night all things considered. I saw at least 5 guns behind the plate, so there's that.

if only all scouting was based on a player's most recent performance. Chris Roberson would've fetched us Johan Santana.

Oh, GOD..why?!? I hope not..his ERA is near 6.00 this year. Does he have anything left?

Not that he was great to begin with..
