If I were Rube, I would call Douche Nozzle tomorrow, offer him Drabek, Happ, Donald, and Marson and tell him he has untiil Tuesday at 5 PM to take the deal or we are moving on to other alternatives.

Would love if the Phils could do that deal. At this point I would be fine if the deal that gets it done just does not include both Drabek and Brown

So I wonder if Brown was the switched for Taylor in that proposed deal if the Blue Jays would jump?

Would you do it?

I know what you're asking yourself and the answer is yes. I have a nick name for my penis. Its called the Octagon, but I also nick named my testes - my left one is James Westfall and my right one is Doctor Kenneth Noisewater.

See, I would think if you switch Taylor for Brown in that deal and include one other prospect of their choosing exlcusive of Brown and Knapp, it would be a done deal. And isn't that very close to the original price we all discussed/anticipated/thought would be fair?

I think I've said so many conflicting things over the course of these 6 threads that I dont remember what I thought was good or fair anymore

If the Jays turned down something like that I sincerely hope that Amaro tells JPR to go back to sticking buttplugs up his ass.

It's not like he is going to have to deal with him in the future anyway.

this needs to be like taking off a band aid - give them Happ Drabek and Brown and do it fast. If you have to throw in Donald to switch out Taylor for Brown, then so be it. i really hope they can keep Marson though and it'd be nice if we could keep one of Taylor or Brown.
The proposed deal tonight would have been awesome.

I know I would suck at this, because I would have called JP with this as my counter. And I'd expect to get it done. It's Roy Halladay; ergo, it is worth it.

The Texas Rangers also are still talking to the Blue Jays about Halladay, according to a source familiar with those two teams' discussions. Texas, the source confirmed, was one of several clubs given a this-is-what-it-would-take proposal by the Blue Jays in the last 72 hours.

I think the asshat in Toronto is going to end up holding onto Halladay. He'll subsequently be fired at season's end, and his replacement will end up getting a lesser package.

Again with the Rangers!

How the hell is Tom Hicks going to afford Halladay when his company is over half a billion in the red?

He can't. This is all BS. It's GM's feeding writers garbage, and the writers throwing everything against the wall, hoping something sticks.

I find it fascinating that they're not really negotiating. They're just exchanging offers and counter-offers. It's like they're buying a house. At some point if you want to get a deal done, pick up the damn phone and haggle until you get something you both like.

I think their current behavior is a symptom of the smug-a-thon. It's like they think it would show weakness just to have a conversation or two.
