"Sources saying that Halladay might overdose on an eight ball tonight #wertz"
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

Inky sez Drabek, Happ, and Brown according to CSN.

Ricky Bo says since both Halladay and Happ pitched tonight that he thinks it'll be done quickly, if it isn't already....

Know this: Halladay has told people that the Phillies are his preferred choice if he were to be traded. The Blue Jays want pitchers J.A. Happ and Kyle Drabek and one of two outfield prospects: Michael Taylor or Dominic Brown.

Riccairdi's opening (or maybe bottom line for all we know) asking price is too steep. Yeah, I'm stating the obvious, just needed to type it and get it off my chest.

When you consider...

1) as mentioned earlier here, Halliday himself doesn't think he's going anywhere

2) Jays fans practically burned Ricciardi in effigy today

3) Halliday merchandise accounts for more than 50% of all player specific Jays merchandise sold

... Halladay will be a .... Jays. He ain't going anywhere. Maybe if Rube willingly takes Ricciardi's butt rape with a smile and then thanks him for the privilege afterwards... maybe. But I'd say the odds of Halliday staying put to be 90% at the least.

There is one way that is possible; if they actually do trade for Halladay, he gets injured or isn't effective, and the prospects we traded turn out to be hall of famers.

It will get done. But either Drabek or Happ is going to be replaced with a combo of Knapp/Carrasco.

Brown, Happ, Knapp, Carrasco. That's going to be it.

After Carrasco's clunker tonight, no way.

In a way, its tough to really be disappointed. It seems the Phillies are willing to give up a lot, but the GM on the other end is a total doucher. Frankly, I'm just happy that one of the best players in the game prefers to come here, even if his boss can't accommodate, and that our front office was willing to try and make it work.

Its progress. Even if im not completely confident in the current team being able to repeat as constructed

You seem like the man around here. I like you. You take control of the conversation, and tell people(me) to keep their crap off this board. You impose your will so thoroughly, it even transcends the internet. It makes me feel inferior to you in life. You could be a 35 year old man in a basement somewhere, wearing boxers with mini battleships embroidered upon them, and nothing in front of you but your Lenovo laptop and a bowl of apple jacks. None of that matters. On the internet, you're a shark, and you make me feel like a helpless salmon. You see a new poster with 100 posts(the salmon) and you attack. All my years of studying at Columbia on my quest to become a doctor of medicine are thrown out the window once I step into your territory. I guess that's the beauty of life, isn't it? Barack Obama could join this message board and immediately take a backseat to you, with your track record and support of fellow veterans. I bow down to you sir, you are the better man.

Salisbury adds that the Phillies have interest in Cliff Lee, Erik Bedard, and Jarrod Washburn as backup plans, and will scout Lee Sunday.

I've always thought the notion of "scouts going to see" somebody was a bit silly. These players have a body of work. If a GM gets overly affected by the one performance that his scout saw in the days before a trade, then he's an idiot.

This is just the Phillies counter position to Riccardi's opening statement of what he wants, right?

I'm not despairing here. I think Drabek, Taylor, and two lesser arms gets this done.
